Set in the dazzling world of the L.A. music scene comes the story of Grace Davis (Tracee Ellis Ross), a superstar whose talent, and ego, have reached unbelievable heights. Maggie (Dakota Johnson) is Grace's overworked personal assistant who's stuck running errands but still aspires to her dream of becoming a music producer. Things come to a head when Grace's long-time manager (Ice Cube) presents the singer with a choice that could alter the course of her career, and Grace must choose between playing it safe or listening to her heart in a decision that could change her life forever.
The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra ("Late Night") from a script by Flora Greeson. It is produced by Working Title Films' Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. The film's executive producers are Nathan Kelly and Alexandra Loewy.

Cool film. Glad Tracey Ellis Ross finally overcame her fears and stepped out in the Music genre. Should she push her vocals she will be outstanding. I think this was almost a Kelvin Harrison Jr. Movie. Wow! what a talent he's a triple threat. Hope this is not a crusher But, isn't this the Diana Ross / Brandy movie with role reversals? If so, soo glad it was redone in this way. Love, Loved that film 'Double Platinum' Congratulations! to Tracey, Dakota and Kelvin a great feel good film. Refreshing. Ice Cube was icing on the cake.
