Perfect timing. Nice violin accompaniment. He really pushed himself to his limits. Always thought about his audience. Even today the lines are funny.

By "lines" do you mean gags or stunts? Buster never used a script, and silent film obviously did not involve spoken dialogue.

I think that there's a missing cut away right after he doesn't slip on the banana peal. In his autobiography, he described the not slipping on the banana peal as a sort of outsmarting the audience, but then they got the feeling it was too much, so they made him slip on a banana peal the next sequence. But I've never seen a version with that. It kind of sad.
