The HighGloss Black Aerokit Porsche 992 - 911 Carrera S Installation!

Follow me as I install the OEM Porsche Aerokit spoiler on my 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S. It should be fun and took around 3-4 hours to complete.

Great video! For those doing this mod, you can actually skip the step associated with removing the individual fins on the active aero. It isn’t necessary and it’ll save you a lot of time. It took me 20 minutes to tear the rear apart and about the same amount of time to reconstruct the rear (not including de-pinning/re-pinning). I spent the time de-pinning the 8-pin harness and it’s a waste of time. You’d be better served to just cut off the 8-pin connector, crimping new pins to the 7 wires and inserting into the 14-pin connector….OR….cutting off the 8-pin connector, cutting the 14-pin connector off of the original base, removing pin #1, and splicing the wires (they are all the same colors, so very easy to match up) and shrink wrapping them. I used the latter method because the connectors were back ordered and I wanted to get the install completed.

Nice video, I did the full aero mod to include front and rear portions. There were a number of fault lights which needed to be cleared to include the rear brake and old spoiler deletes. Outside of that I congratulate your new vision, it looks great.

Hi Paul - Awesome job and very thankful you posted this install! When you did the third brake light wiring, did that eliminate the issue where stepping on the brakes causes the third brake light on the wing to illuminate but then causes a corresponding gap in the light bar? In other words, does the brake light on your wing and the entire light bar illuminate when you step on the brakes? Thanks!

@@CarSpecGarage - Thanks! Also, a question on repinning the harness... I think the intaller at Flatsixmotorsports indicated it was difficult to repin the harness because the wires were too big to fit the harness. Did you have any issues repinning the harness into the new spare harness you bought?

@@CarSpecGarage yeah but I’m from Europe so ordering from sun coast is a bit to expensive, will cost me more or less 1000 euro just for shipping. And Sun Coast never mention the original OEM part numbers on their website. 😢 So I was hoping you had those numbers on your box.

Paul - Question re: the front lip that comes w/ the aerokit wing. Did you install that front lip onto your non-sport design front bumper? Does it fit? Or does that front lip that comes w/ the aerokit rear spoiler only fit on a sport design front lip? I find it odd that they would include that front lip and was curious what's the difference between the front lip in the kit vs. the one that comes on a standard Carrera S front bumper or a Sport Design front bumper. Thanks for your input on this. I'm getting a quote from the delaer to install and they are telling me they have to pain and install the front lip spoiler. Not even sure if it fits my non-Sport Design front bumper.

Just completed the install and this video did not address the plug on the base. The base comes with a 8 or 9 pin plug. The old base has a 14 pin plug. You have to remove the pins from the old plug and use them in the new plug. That alone took me almost 2 hours!

I understand that Porsche recommends having the SD front end for the spoiler but is it actually necessary or would it be fine to have the standard front end with the spoiler? thanks!
