I never thought I was a metallic shoe person, however- this year I bought a pair of silver mary jane ballet flats from Banana Republic Factory because I wanted a flat shoe that was a little dressier that I could wear in winter with darker clothes AND in the summer with white cotton dresses. They are my favorite shoes now because I feel like they go with everything from jeans to trousers to dresses and add a little bit of sparkle to my fits since I stopped wearing jewelry (other than my wedding ring) when I started wearing hijab. I also bought a Longchamp Le Pliage backpack secondhand this year, and it might be my favorite purchase of the year. Mine is black nylon with the brown leather flap and the brown straps- super classic. It makes for such a good day bag to hold all my things without being too big and bulky. I wore it on a recent trip to London and it kept my things dry and secure without looking like I was going hiking.

I LOVE all things metallic!!! they are the most expressive neutrals! I've been debating getting in on the Longchamp trend!! Secondhand sounds like the best way honestly!!

@@abeerkhakwani I had wanted one for years and years, but buying one brand new seemed too expensive for a simple nylon backpack. I've always seen the Le Pliage totes as a timeless, practical, and classy bag. But I have small shoulders that slope, so tote bags never work for me.

@@abeerkhakwani I do both. On winter I wear my heavy duty boots to work but once I get to work I switch to Tieks.
