The term "gharana" itself refers to a "house" or "family," indicating a lineage or school of music. The Gwalior Gharana, one of the oldest and most prominent gharanas, was founded in the early 19th century and is associated with the musician Haddu Khan.Indian classical music consists of Hindustani classical music (North India) and Carnatic classical music. However, Gharanas are particular to Hindustani classical music are: 1. Gwalior Gharana(oldest gharana) 2. Agra Gharana 3. Kirana Gharana 4. Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana(khayal style) 5. Patiala Gharana Other Gharanas : 6. Sitar and Sarod Gharanas:- Etawah Gharana, Maihar Gharana 7. Tabla Gharanas: Lucknow Gharana, Delhi Gharana Thankyou so much sir

Sir my take on "Whether govt. should increase the taxes on tobacco and sugared beverages" - Yes, they should increase the levied taxes on Tobacco and sugared beverages to a reasonable percentage( if the govt. exceeds the reasonable limit it might cause disbalance in the economy) as:- 1)The heavy duty imposed on tobacco and sugared beverages might lead to disruption in supply-demand change and as per the economic principle of supply and demand(increase=price, lower=demand). 2)The increase in price will make it difficult for teenagers and adolescents to afford tobacco and sugared beverages which will lead to decrease in percentage of 'teenagers smoking tobacco' . 3)Imposing of heavy duties on tobacco will also affect the status of India-"World's second largest consumer of tobacco in the world" in a positive way. However, govt. should not exceed the reasonable limit of taxation as it might lead to increase in prices so much that it results in shutting down of factories manufacturing such goods which will eventually lead to a situation of unemployment, disrupted cash flow in the economy, increased imports etc. Thanks!!

Increasing taxes on tobacco is a beneficial step as it helps improve public health, protects youth from its harmful effects, and boosts government revenue. Higher prices discourage consumption, reducing the risk of diseases like cancer and heart problems. However, to address the impact on low-income groups and the risk of illegal markets, the government should also focus on awareness programs and rehabilitation centers. This balanced approach will ensure long-term benefits for society.

Sir I think government should increase the taxes on tobacco and sugery drinks: •Government would have more revenue for investment In creating jobs and infrastructure Poor people will also get less addicted towards tobacco as they would think twice before buying tobacco as it would spoil their house budget • many public places would remain clean as people would not spit tobacco after eating as they won't be able to afford it Also India 's diabetics issue would get solve if there is taxation on sugery drinks. It can also let to foreign companies to reduce adding sugar in huge amount in their soft drinks while selling their soft drinks in India which would let to increase in quality of the product sold by these companies.

Yes sir, increasing tobacco tax would be a good decision. Higher tax could make a bigger difference . It had some advantages but there are some disadvantages as well. Looking from both aspects will help the government to make decisions.(Tobacco contributes to cancer ,heart disease, damage immune system, stroke ,lung cancer and many more.) Increasing tobacco tax by 35% lead to decrease in consumption. 1. The revenue collected through tax can be utilised in funding for health program and help in welfare. 2. Due to the deduction in consumption ,it will reduce the burden on the health system and save lives. 3. Higher tobacco taxes may reduce the demand for tobacco products. Increasing tax may lead to smuggling ,illegal supplier of it or black marketing. Which is the hurdle in progress of government. People may still find few ways to keep smoking while switching to cheaper brands or illegal products which can harm them and lead to more critical situations. In the long run, increasing taxes suddenly at 40% or more may lead to these consequences. Thank you sir for the session

I support the 35% tax hike on tobacco as it can improve public health by reducing consumption and generate significant revenue for the government. However, it may lead to illegal trade and negatively impact farmers and traders reliant on tobacco production. Addressing these challenges with strict enforcement is crucial.

sir increasing taxes on tobacco and on sugared beverages have both prons and cons .. increasing taxes can reduce the consumption and can add on to govt. revenue .. which could further be utilised in in education, or other health services.. but sir in long run it could lead to black marketing which would become a hurdle in growth process ..sir it can be beneficial to impose higher taxes but govt. should also be prepared to meet its challenges .

yes , increasing tax on Tobacco is an important step , as in a vast country like India its populations is really its wealth who is facing bad effects of drugs like Tabacco . consumption of tabacco leads to several health problems like cancer etc which leads to phusical as well as mental health loss sometime also leads economic issues , it curb the economic development of an individual as well as the country . The time the youth who should provide services to their country they are facing the tabacco consuming habits . The GDP increase would led to price hike and reduction in its consumption because of less income reasons. so , I really appreciate the idea of increasing tax on Tabacco.

Sir I believe that increasing the GST on Tobacco is good if it is in proportionate manner, like around 35% as it can make people unable to buy the tobacco products due to high costs and ultimately really make the tobacco market shrink to a large extent, also prevent the youth from indulging in these ill practice and can make a progressive and secured future but at the same time there is one more possibility its that the rate of GST should be increased proportionately and be kept in supervision or like monitoring the trends that the new GST follows otherwise it might lead the addicted people who coud not afford it, to indulge in crimes to make out money to avail these sorts of tobacco products, this way it might turn into a negtative and unwanted outcome which will lead to bad consequences. So one suggestion from me is that the increased rates of GST on TOBACCO should be kept monitored, and gradually the government might increase it if it is seeing any productive outcome, and eventually, this way, it can have better chances for achieving the goal when compared to the sudden and very high increase in its GST at once. Thank you!

Increasing Tax on Tabacco :- • Will decrease the tobacco consumption because of higher cost price. • Will also decrease the number of patients in hospitals suffering from mouth cancer leading to more available beds for patients. • Will be definitely beneficial for the government, as government will receive more tax and can allocate them to useful welfare schemes.

my mighty mind says ki incerasing the tax slab of tobacco and related drugs has its own implications ......... we all feel ki increasing it would lead to lesser consumption whereas the persons employed in the sector will also have to face challenges .... in a nutshell increasing it to a reasonable position where the poor wont access it would be best .....

Yes sir. The 35% tax increase would definitely make tobacco products more expensive, which could lead to a decrease in consumption, especially among people who are already struggling financially. However, for addicted individuals, the financial burden may not be enough to stop them completely, as addiction to nicotine often outweighs the financial cost. Many smokers may either still consume, but just a little less, switch to cheaper alternatives, or cut back on other expenses to maintain their habit. If the goal is to reduce smoking significantly among addicted individuals, a higher tax, maybe around 40% or more, could make a bigger impact. But even then, addiction is tricky, and some people may still find ways to keep smoking, whether through cheaper brands or even illegal products. So, while higher taxes might help, they’re not a perfect solution on their own. Nonetheless, it is a step in the right direction. Edit: because we are talking about increasing taxes, then why just stop at 40%? Why not 50% or 100% ? I think because at very high taxes (50% or 100%), revenue generation becomes uncertain. While taxes could initially boost revenue, they may also reduce sales and drive consumers to the black market, lowering taxahle sales. Over time, this could make the revenue lesser than before, as fewer people buy taxed products. Which will result in less revenues but not so less consumption (black market)

since the additional taxation will definitely reduce the demand of these goods and will prosper the health of the country’s resources but for all these good, the poor or the worker class will need to pay either with their jobs or their wages. but despite the persisting unemployment issues and employee compensation problems in addition of these the cost is too low for the returns to be generated by the following measures.

According to me in levying high taxes on tobacco and sugar bevrages are concerning there should be more talks on it ... If we think about the sole profit and health profit high taxes are good but if we think whole on the consequences then high taxes could be the cause of tensions among middle encome family and lower encome family. In these types of people they are generally addicted towards tobacco and as all we know if a labour earns 500 rupees then itd first expenditure is towards liquor which is sole concerning for his family and at that time if increase taxes at that rate then the whole family would affect .. because people don't abstain from liquour then how they will refrain tobacco Govt. Should takes all the consequences before increasing the taxes

Increasing taxation on tobacco may not turn our to be as helpful as increasing taxes to an exorbitant levels may lead to malpractices in order to sell and buy tobacco as has been observed by previous historical examples. Thus, although tempting it will not yield much benefit

No for sugar beverages because, till now Indian middle class is already suffering from higher taxes and , sugar beverages are part of their life , High tax in suger beverages must cause tension among middle class and upper class.. and it would create huge problem for government.. where as on tabbco.. 40 percentage taxes must be good, taxation on dangerous thing which eventually cause death and making family suffered from poverty should not be good things .. But it's Indian government, they will not understand this .. alcohol and tobacco are part of the election ...😅
