*Evaluate the threat posed by the ISIS in the aftermath of its defeat in the battle of Baghuz* In Feb 2019, ISIS which was headquartered in Iraq and Syria was defeated and lost its territorial control during the battle of Baghuz with Kurdish Fighter supported by the US and its allies. 1). The Easter Sunday attack in Sri Lanka which took the lives of 250 people with the support of National Thowheeth Jama'ath (NTJ) witnessed the ideology behind the bombings 2). Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi himself was to announce subsequently that the attacks in Sri Lanka were revenge for the fall of the Syrian town of Baghuz 3). The ISIS has misused the social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, WeChat etc. in order to indoctrinate and self radicle the adults who come under the exposure of these social media platforms. 4). As per the security experts, this is a new model of ideology by ISIS to recruit individuals to make them indoctrinate and also provide them with financial assistance. 5). The security experts call this ideology as a startup model or franchise model because this is different compared to the traditional ways followed by the other terror outfits such as Al -Qaida. Whereas the leaders themselves travel to different countries to recruit individuals which will be controlled by centralised manner. 6). ISIS has adopted the decentralised model and misused social media platforms. 7). The death of IS suspect from Kerala who came under this ideology and was repeatedly killed in the US drone strike in Afghanistan possess a serious threat to our country which highlights the new model of terrorism. *Way forward* *The Internet has become the path for ISIS to promote Radicalisation. Time spent alone on the social media platforms may be misused by ISIS to lead a behaviour of uncritical zeal. Hence, Our govt must implement certain steps to shield social media platforms from radical extremist and also need to take a relook on certain tendencies*

Please kindly review: Q-1 According to the law ministry, there are more than 60,000 cases pending alone at the Supreme Court and the situation of pending backlogs is rising at the high court as well as at the subordinate level. This situation leads to the miscarriage of justice. Suitable reforms is the need of the hour: + To increase the age limit of the judges from current 62 to 65 years. { Effective use of their rich knowledge and experience } + To amend the current collegium system and add a time frame clause in appointing judges. + setting up special courts adjudicated by recent law graduates to hear more trivial cases.{traffic offences,etc}( 245th law commission report ). + a centralised recruitment system for lower courts along the line of the UPSC. + setting up fast track courts to expedite cases( 11th finance commission). + Adopt the use of information and communication technology .{ e-court, e-pay initiatives}. + to increase the strength of the judges on a timely basis as and when requested by the CJI. A better implementation of these reforms will help in tackling the rising number of cases at all the levels of judiciary.

Divorce is a civil offence. Fair enough. But in which dimension is triple talaq a divorce. Divorce is a formal settlement. This is arbitrary and only one sided. When given triple talaq, a women, her children and the entire family is in a helpless and devastated situation which very likely leads to depression, anxiety and constant state of uncertainty. In medical terminology it is ‘psychological torture ‘. How can’t the same be a criminal offence? Law is binary. Offences are eclectic. You say! Real deal is deterrence. Now when they say “how can a husband pay maintenance while he is incarcerated?” Mind you, the one who is desperate to go behind the bars renders talaq and he is the one who can’t pay maintenance. If you think everyone ends up in jail, well, those legislators don’t have confidence on their subjects and in some remotest element, are supporting such a practice.

@byju's : 27:25 , if its constitutional to take inter state river issue to supreme court nd the discion of tribunal committee is final then why supreme takes those issues when a state approaches them ?
@BYJUSIAS

The Supreme Court can review Judgment as part of Judicial Review. So orders passed by Tribunal can also be reviewed by Supreme Court in case the parties in the issue are not pleased with the order passed by Tribunal.

The increasing the number of judges in the sc could enable the fast track procedures of the proceedings. Furthermore, implementation of information technology as well as implementation to the solve the case within a definite period of time could implement faster judiciary proceedings and judgements.

sir, it is written that parliament MAY by law.......but this article is not necessarily taking away the concept of judicial review. it is only if parliament passes a law, taking away judicial review

1.Indian judiciary is struggling to cope with the rising pendency of cases... To give a radical and more appealing answer to this question.. ... a) Number of appeals one can make must reduced to just one. For eg. If a justice is denied for a person or a state by a district court.He can apply against the judgement in the High court or The Supreme court(any one only).. If again the justice is denied in the High court,there should not be a chance for him to appeal again....As a Justice denied two times is enough to prove the real nature of the claim made by that person or a state.This reform definitely help the judiciary. b)The court must follow a deadline pattern of finishing cases quick as possible.... For eg. Civil and petty cases - max 45 days.. Cases where huge sum of money involved - 60 days... Interstate dispute - 3 months Thus following a strict deadlines reduces the number of bumping cases.

Sir, your point B is good but point A is a violation of Rights of an individual to seek justice to a higher court. The people pf this country still have faith in the Indian Judiciary because they know that even a common man can knock on the gates of Supreme Court of India and we are nobody to take this right away from them. Instead, the Judiciary can fasten the process of the cases that have been reappealed from a lower and quickly sort them out or the government can even make special batches of judges only for hearing and delivering of reapplead cases in Supreme Court, this will increase the efficiency of judeges of Supreme Court
