Good evening sir, as per my previous commitment, today I watched this editorial session as your organization usually closed on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Today's motivational quote is from my side “Never wait for a perfect moment, just take a moment and make it perfect.” Editorial is concerning to selling the stake of AIR India. In editorial: - Approx two years ago, when the stake of AIR India had been tried to sold first which failed to enthuse buyers and now it is back on sale. Be it, the government needs to leave the troubled airline which is consuming tax-payer money or be it smart learning from the last failed attempt, however the terms seems are favorable based on feedback from the buyers. Documents, inviting under Expression of Interest (EOI), the government will sell all stake of national carrier and Air India Express Limited including its 50% of Singapore SATS. Even the government has reduced the net worth of buyers those who participate in bid. It almost seems that the terms are established keeping in mind of specific bidders. But the government has not discussed a key point i.e. employees of Air India and Air India Express those who are permanent. However, the government has said that all the issues have been resolved except issue related to the employee which is under consideration and will be cleared shortly. Other than this, successful bidders will also have to deal with pension liability for the airline’s retired employees and their other facilities. The government has also cleared that the EOI documents will be clarified at the proposal stage. There can be no denying that whoever buys the airlines will have to remove surplus labor. Maybe the government will negotiate with short-listed bidders on this issue which could have the airline’s unions up in arms. Lack of transparency, maybe put off the interest of bidders. The government should have made all efforts to clear all the terms and conditions which would have helped bidders make up their minds. In my notion: - The ruling government has once again decided to sell the stake of Air India, Air India Express Limited and SATS limited Singapore despite much criticism of the oppositions and people. However, currently there have many favorable chances for the government as compared to the previous selling of stakes of India’s entities. As far as employees are concern, the government should look an alternative option for them whereby any complicacy could be avoided in future. Besides, the Government should put all its aspects either related to benefit or loss among the people. Somewhere we can see that the privatization helps the development of the country but India is a developing country in which many people are unable to go the private hospitals for treatment due to shortage of money. For example, when we go to the Government Hospitals for treatment, where we generally see, shortage of medicines and staff even they do not want to give response to the vulnerable people while contrary things we can see in Private Hospitals. ■ COMMON ERROR # The stated reason is that the stay would (a)/ "assuage the hurt feelings of the farmers" and encourage them (b)/ to go the negotiating table. (c)/ NO ERROR (d) # It is somewhat disconcerting that the stay of legislation is EFFECTED solely as an (a)/ instrument to facilitate the Court's arrangement rather than on the basis (b)/ of any identified legal or constitutional infirmities in the laws. (c)/ No error (d) # It is only in the wake of (a)/ the government's perceived failure that (b)/ the court has CHOSEN to intervene.
