India's expenditure on R&D per capita is USD 39.37, while Singapore have USD 1831.7, USA have USD 1586.35 and for China USD 322.

How can we expect our countries progress in especially medical research when nearly 60 percent of our medical institutions had no peer reviewed publications for a decade or so and no recognition and encouragement of any sort for doing basic research in medical sciences in the country and over all almost all doctors satisfied with the income they get by their private practice and working in a so called multi-speciality hospitals alone with no serious academic activities.

Indian subcontinent is stuck in medieval mind set and trying to go further backwards. Just look at the last 10 years budget allocation on two counts education and defense. This literature festival will also become like November music festival... Elitist, feel great about the community you belong, go back and maintain status quo. I believe India’s shift towards nationalism (or fascist ideology) might work in the short term, but it will likely be disastrous in the long run. Some might question how China’s nationalism compares, but it's different-China's communist ideology counterbalances nationalism, which could prevent it from slipping into fascism.

Venky has graduated from a state university and our elite advisor from IIT, see the difference now who has contributed more for the society!
