Your videos are some of the most informative I’ve found for engineers on KZbin! Thanks for sharing all this and talking about your experience so honestly. Appreciate it a lot!

If you're wondering about how to figure out which sphere was hollow, just place both spheres atop an incline ramp and let them roll to the bottom (without slipping). The hollow sphere will come last. Both spheres start with the same graviational potential energy, mgh, and we know that all this energy is converted into rotational and translational kinetic energy. The hollow sphere takes more energy to rotate around its center because all of its mass is distributed on its surface, and moment of inertia is proportional to the square distance of each mass component. Therefore, the hollow sphere will use more of its energy trying to rotate and less energy into translational motion, making it reach the bottom of the ramp last.

Coupd you also do a drop test, compare how they react when it hits the ground?
@Hon2fun6 ай бұрын
you can also just throw them both in water see which one weights more
@@Hon2fun They have the same mass and the same external volume… so they'll both behave the same in water. Even if they weren’t the same weight, things of different weights and densities can behave the same way in water. A solid ball of glass and a solid ball of lead would both sink

@@xenontesla122 Hey thanks for your reply. I have been a test engineer for over 5 years now and this is how I measure and determine characterstics of different objetcts using specific gravity.

Hey man, I know you’re into tech companies and the startup community, but why not try automotive? Great number of fulfilling jobs in mechanical design engineering, and a lot of innovation on the horizon!

@K1NG_GTR35 yea I agree. He should go for some sort of automotive, energy, or construction job. Some of those jobs can pay well (good enough) and be fulfilling.

I know this isn't the place to look for a job, but imma give it a shot since they say the best way to get a job nowadays is by recommendation by networking. So if anyone has free time and has a potential opportunity for me I would love to talk to you so you can give me a chance. I am a recent grad with 0 internship experience but if you're willing to give me a shot you won't be disappointed since I am highly committed. Comment on this message to get in touch

Recentaly I went to an interview for a company that I didn't really care about. it was more like a practice to me. Process was nice and an engineer did the interview which was great. Problem for them is that I am currently working for another company and they needed someone right away. So they said that I was disqualified because of that? wut. This is the second time this happens, they want somebody that is not working? haha. that makes no sense but whatever

My theory on why the hex sockets are the standard is that it allows more angles to turn a screw in a tight space. You can rotate every 60 degrees, vs a triangle socket would only allow you to reinsert every 180 degrees

U mean a flat head screwdriver only allows for 180 right?
