HDB 的前身是SIT ， SIT 在英国政府的时代 1940年代就开始建“公屋” ， 当时的楼层和外貌跟现在的不一样。都少于10楼。

女皇镇是我国组屋区的的第一个卫星镇。

以前SIT建得慢，英国也没什么心思建，我们有时得三，四个家庭挤在一个屋檐下，一个家庭挤一个房间。快独立时，李光耀就改SIT成HDB大力改善“公屋” 的体制，再加上“居者有其屋”的政策，就一路到现在。

您有没有觉得HDB几十年来没什么进步，祖屋千篇一律，五颜六色像幼儿园，看起来很土，感觉HDB固步自封，COMPLACENT，基本就是拿老图纸改改而已。。。（还是马宝山当部长时建的那些祖屋很有特点，当时建的很多祖屋不知道的人都猜好像是公寓，你去看紧挨Buangkok MRT的那些祖屋就很漂亮。马宝山之后来又越来越土了。。。）

Why dont you try other places with the birdcage style or flats which were never refurbished?
