I'm 874 in queue and awaiting what should prove to be quite the challenge for me. Especially just the spawn escape itself Update: it took me like 6 hours to finally queue in but i escaped spawn after my 3rd attempt, didnt run inti any players. i found my food salvation on a friendly farm and now im just trying to move as far away as possibe so i can get set up. i got kicked while on a boat (wonder if its similar to the horse thing i remember in one of your vids). anyways it was a cool experience and one i may try again some day. till then thats my first experience on 2b2t, the oldest anarchy server in minecraft. good day folks!

I actually thought the spawn trench was a road meant to help new players when I joined! There were lots of crossings to it and the obsidian sidings are easy to walk on, so it never occurred to me that it might have been meant to be hostile. Edit: To clarify, I spawned right next to it, so I thought it was a road.

A lot of the spawn build projects have this dual nature, where nominally it's meant to control the new player population and discourage people from sticking around, but mostly it's just a statement and an amazing thing to look at.
