We have till the "non-ending" to do what we need & want to do. Time is cyclical and not linear. Chris will not look like he does now in 200 years, but he will be literally part of the whole of Yellowstone and more. He will be able to see, smell, taste, feel and hear, what seeds has been sowed for the Bison and all of the life there. If he notices his breath with awareness, he can realize what he dreams.

Pure Bison genetics is a "thing"; is there a place to market your heifers? I can't imagine a beefalo surviving in the wild.

Instead of slaughtering those that roam out side park, why not use to establish herds in other locals
@davidduckett535 Жыл бұрын
so you essentially answered this question, seems that there may also be a loss of genetic diversity lost in the slaughter, but maybe not considering the small initial population

The bison is the park!!!! If there wasn’t any bison….it wouldn’t be interesting… When you think of the West…..you think of the bison….They are the West!!!

about those Bison.....

Calm down jeez. So rude. Their main job is not uploading videos. It's managing the park and the animals they have specialized in.

The park service should be ashamed that it's participating in a roundup and slaughter of bison that wander off the park looking for food so they don't starve. The Yellowstone herd is just a tiny fraction of the bison that once roamed this country and we can't even make room for them. Rather than killing - not "harvesting" - these bison, the park service should buy land near the park to give the bison room to feed. I would actually be ashamed to be a park ranger, who should be committed to wildlife and ecosystem conservation, and participate in bison roundups.

Listen, those folks are passionate about conservation and they definitely don’t want to have to manage the population that way. The reality is that the folks in those positions have to make compromises to accommodate the economic interests of other parties as Jake explained. They shouldn’t be ashamed and they don’t deserve to be shamed by you. The park service and similar agencies do their best and have to battle against the interests of the modern world in order to promote and sustain these populations. These issues are always way more complex than they seem.
