I wish this building could be saved. Such a beautiful building and other buildings in Brownsville's to fall apart. I'd like to see the inside of the Union building. I remember going to the dentist there.

The hospital was transformed into the Golden Age Nsg center, NOT the old Nsg School across the street. the Nsg residence was transformed into the Manor for retired Veterans. My mother, Nellie McCardle Porter was head nurse at Golden Age, which functioned into the 70s until the state shut it down for Elder Abuse. Nellie had attended the Brownsville Hospital School of Nsg in the 40s. My brother and I had our tonsils removed in that Hosp in 1955 by Dr Park. The Golden Age smelled so bad of old urine and feces that you could not stand it. My father had Porter's Paint and Glass on the prior block, which when we moved to Hiller, Nufry took it over as a Barber Shop. That entire block is gone now. The newer hospital is also long shut down and crumbling.

I recently explored here. Beautiful and creepy location. We walked in during the day time and talked to the neighbor mowing the grass. The middle is starting to collapse and the nursing home has some major holes in the floors and the basement is flooded with raw sewage. It was accessible.

This hospital was torn down in early 2021 along with several more buildings on the main street, the old US Rte 40 after they started to crumble onto the sidewalk.

You are very lucky to have been inside! I'm not allowed since it's condemned and haunted.....also I live in brownsville!

I walked right in and talked to the neighbor. We were worried about it being posted, but it wasn't closed off and the locals were friendly. I'm from Johnstown so it was a bit of a drive, but you should be able to go in without an issue. Just heed caution as it is not in the safest condition anymore and avoid the basement.

I've been in here many of times. Did you guys check out the hotel and old bank as well? What about the station?!

Was here for the second time today! Also the "Insane Asylum" across the road. It's very wonderful to experience. As far as the Bank and Hotel go, I believe I have been in the Hotel. I know a great friend of mine who has explored so much around there though I've only been in a bit of the one building with endless empty halls. My friend said the building across the bank is accessible through a manhole. I have yet to really see but I'm very much looking forward to testing that this summer!

I don't believe thats an asylum. From what my dad said it was the old nursing home.

Did you gain access/permission to hospital? I'd like to do a photo shoot there and didn't want to get in trouble or break and enter... Nice historical background and coverage here, I enjoyed it.

It wasn't posted and we walked in and even talked with the man who lives across the street. We went in during the day without any issue or questioning.

I live around here and for everyone saying that they want to come and explore this place; PLEASE DO NOT . By trespassing this CONDEMNED building you not only risk your own lives, but the lives of our first responders. STAY OUT.

You need to talk to somebody that actually worked there. I had ants and My Mom that actually worked there not somebody that used to go there when they had an operation when they were four bad interview.
