loved the video but would've been better without the action music
@Gallenon Жыл бұрын
Why? You are really think that without the music would've been be better? Without this music would've been worse. Music helping making history more interesting to people. Especially for the English-language version, because English does not allow you to say "For the People", so this music helps a lot

I loved the use of footage from various documentaries and biopics, it was fun to see which ones I recognized lol. I think it did need music but I don't think that was exactly the right choice and it could have been quieter at some points. But other than that, very entertaining, and great commentary. Keep it up!

These people were Britons and identified as British. The English had been at war with the French for hundreds of years trying to compete for land and territory found in the new world. Britons at that time were loyal to their King and country and mainly Protestant church of England. One God , One word. No other authority. Some say the American war of independence was a Popish war against Protestantism. When the Americans mention Ireland, they don't understand Ireland was occupied by Britain because it was an open flank that could have been occupied by the French and thus stopped ships leaving Britain. No word is spoken about the Irish immigrants denied entry unless they fought in the American civil war. One God. One monarch. Justice and Parliament.

I think that's something that many American historians (save for the most diligent ones) prefer not to discuss. And to be honest, it wasn't us who did it, really; it was the British. But then, it can be argued that we were still officially British at the time, so maybe we _did_ do it.... [shrug]

Not a bad overview - lots of complicated historical narratives, tough to discuss in any depth in a 20-minute vid. A few thoughts from a Canadian amateur history buff: 1) This expat Newfoundlander would like you to know that there is no such place as "NEWfundlund". The pronunciation you're looking for is "New-fund-LAND". 2) The word "Eskimo" translates as "eater of raw meat", and is considered a racial slur today. The northern aboriginal people of Canada refer to themselves as "Inuit". 3) The French at Quebec didn't "catapult". They "capitulated". The two words are not at all the same. 4) You use an awful lot of footage taken from movies that have little or nothing to do with Canada or our history. Surely you could have found more relevant movie clips and film footage...? Cheers!
