Also the map shows the wrong island of Hispaniola, Santo Domingo. The island your video is about is a smaller island further down the chain of islands just north of Martinique. That is Dominica 🇩🇲. It is different from the Spanish Santo Domingo the DR.

I had no idea the English made this such a mess.” Plus hurricanes. In St. Thomas, where I live, we have US insurance, contractors and good grant management & organization that Dominica can never hope to have. It is just economics. AND … thankfully we were under the Danes and St. Thomas never an place where slavery was a profitable entity for most attempts. Too hilly and volcanic rocky. .

Rich in resources and nature, but poor economically. If Dominica wasn't as poor, we wouldn't be using the E.C. currency which is still a British backed currency. We would have used our own currency since we are a Sovereign Republic
