This of course is all speculation and therory, because no one was living to record the changes over the ages. Another speculation is that an astroidstruck the gulf oxff the Bay of Campechi causing massive upheavel to the area forming massive waves shifting the bottom of the gulf into the shifting of bottom material causing the Florida sand ridge and over time thru possible coral formations became the peninsula we now are so blessed to live on. So good does come out of what appears as evil, it just takes time and unfortunately we don't live long enough to see the outcomes, thats why hope comes from faith in the Creator who sees the begiging from the end, omniscient!
