There is another interesting fact that we did not include, Hasbro acquired “Romper Room” in the early 1970’s, and as you know, “Romper Room” was a children’s TV show as aired on many TV stations over the years, including WOR-TV (channel 9) in NYC where they usually carried “Romper Room” in mornings back in the early 1970’s and early 1980’s and it was Hasbro’s first attempt at a children’s TV series. In addition to the TV series, they made a series of children’s toys under the “Romper Room” brand from the 1970’s until the early 1980’s when it was rebranded to “Hasbro Preschool”, and then finally absorbed into Playskool. And also, Hasbro was the first company to licensed the Peanuts characters including Snoopy and put out a collection of Snoopy toys in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s before Hasbro relaunched “GI Joe” and then started “Transformers” and “My Little Pony” as franchises. After a few years when Hasbro launched their franchises, the Snoopy brand was discontinued.

And don’t forget, Hasbro also licensed the toy line based off of the popular 1970’s TV series “Charlie’s Angels” with Farrah Fawcett with a series of doll figures. That lasted right up until the late 1970’s.

Hasbro is best known for board games that MB and Parker Brothers got killed and labeled as Hasbro Gaming brands. MB was known for their classic game show based games including “The Price Is Right”, “Password”, “Family Feud”, “Now You See It”, Concentration” and others. But sadly, all of these shows were owned by Fremantle.

My respects to Hasbro for all they have achieved, of course with tops and lows but still a very admirable company as many others. Many thanks for the comment. Although I agree that Hasbro have helped to keeps some toy lines alive that may have perished without them and resurrected others I feel the overall quality and standards of their toys leaves a lot to be desired. An exception to this is probable their Star Wars Black Series line. I feel they are the "Microsoft" of the toy industry and quicker squash or but up any potential competitors killing market competitiveness and innovation.

@@ActionFigureResource sorry, but I disagree in any points, specifically, that I believe that the "Microsoft title" belongs more to Mattel, especially when it was threatened by the arrival of MGA with its Bratz line, the extreme of not allowing competition was seen, and that makes me suppose that Mattel had to do with poor performance and early withdrawal of the Jem line, therefore, for me, Mattel takes the title of "Microsoft"

@@sakuraharukamelody Very interesting point, and well made. I guess my main point is that I would love to see more independent manufacturers given a better chance or wider distribution, but I guess that's as much the giant retailer's fault as anyone's. Hasbro also killed off Milton Bradley, they made board game adaptations of classic game shows like “Concentration”, “Password”, “$10,000 Pyramid”, “Now You See It”, “$20,000 Pyramid”, “Password Plus”, “High Rollers”, and “The Price Of Right”, the best game shows of all time. Along with that, Parker Brothers made “Monopoly”, and turned into a short lived game show from the summer of 1990, and then “Scrabble”, first a classic word game made by Selchow & Righter, and then became a hit game show with Chuck Woolery, and then Milton Bradley and Parker Brothers killed Selchow & Righter and then two companies like MB had “Scrabble” and Parker Brothers had “Trivial Pursuit”, and then Hasbro killed those two iconic board game companies and becomes one company, and it is now known as Hasbro Gaming. The last classic game show based board games that MB made were the 25th edition of “Password” and “The Price Is Right”, the 1986 edition with 10 pricing games just like the game show, and that was two years after Hasbro bought MB in 1984. And don’t forget Kenner, Hasbro killed Kenner, because of “Star Wars”, Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake.

Hasbro screwed up with so many toylines, so messed up that they have to give the license to another company, this is to my opinion, the worst toyline of the 21th century, Jurassic World, JP fans promised Hasbro many great figures like back in '93, '97, '98 those lines were awesome until Hasbro took the license because Kenner wasn't innovative. In 2015, the were released and they are BULLSHIT! Kids back then are very dissapponted to the company, lazy paint jobs, unnecessary screw holes (except for the battery compartment), permanent Dino-Damage ® which pissed me off, in 2016, they were supposed to lose the license because because of the quality control, so Hasbro made the Dino Hybrid line, which is based off the year's best game: Jurassic World The Game, Owen was a dissapointment, most of the line has no humans except Owen and some ACU people, they stayed at the shelves for about 2 measly years, until Hasbro lost the license because of the bad quality control, Mattel did very great, much like Kenner did for JP1 series 1 and 2 and TLWJP Series 1 and 2. And Chaos Effect too. Mattel said they won't lose the license if the franchise is done. Those toys by Mattel prove Hasbro is a bad toy company.
