I remember hearing the Aerius speakers when I visited a high-end audio store for my first time. The detail and timbral accuracy (I’m a musician well familiar with instrument tonality) hooked me. Years later I purchased a pair of Ethos speakers which I still own and very happy with today.

I remember working at a store where we sold Martin Logan and while they sounded pretty good the Quads and Acoustats had much better dynamic range.

An Ipod dock? Air play through a receiver or a USB through a receiver. Plus these speakers can last you 25 years and remain premium. Over time and with use they pay for themselves.

Yeah, but you're forgetting one thing, ML is an audio company... Bose is a marketing company. iPod docks aren't going to sound nearly as good as towers, so I don't even know why you're comparing them.

@EpicEverythingDude75 You do know the reason why Bose uses a transmission line is so they can squeeze out as much bass as they can out of a small woofer. In other words what ever that port is tuned to in frequency such as 40hertz will be boosted and that's it. also any system that has a port in a speaker application is just there to save space instead of having more subwoofers/drivers to produce the same level of sound pressure or db but, having a port means you can hear the back of the woofer cone of which is out of phase from the front of the woofer which then causes a time delay in the sound which you can hear and is something you don't want in a audiophile system. When you have a sound sin wave such as 40 hertz there is a length to that wave. Bose is a consumer based company of which makes convenient products to listen to music on the go rather or for home theater rather than companies like Focal, Martin Logan or Magnepan which make High end loudspeakers for the discerning audio listener to get it touch with their music and how it should sound in a sound quality system. For example go to a Focal dealer and listen to one of their setups such as the Electra be speaker line or better yet try and find a demo for a grande utopia em set... and you'll see what I mean. I'm not hating on your system just saying you don't have to go rip every one a new one for disagreeing and most the replies you had to you were not negative or rude but you were very rude in return.

I owned Bose 901's from 1974 until I traded them in for used Quad Electrostats in 1977. My Quads blew away the Bose for clarity and midrange. Since then I've owned Acoustats, Beverage electrostats and veven stacked Quads. For a breif time I ventured into Magnaplanar and Apogee then returned to electrostats with Martin Logan. Today I have a 9.4 all Martin Logan system. In all this time I have NEVER bought new - always used. Old ML gear is very reasonably priced and blows away Bose gear.

im still lightening to my Nakamichi 730 105 wpc (circa 78-82) Avid 103's crossed @500/3500'(circa 1978) only added new cherry formica veneer, which did make them sound deeper and richer! go figure.

Mine are awesome. Only speakers I'll ever have. They sound very clean, and the highs are crisp. They make all my old records sound just awesome. The tweeter are ferro fluid cooled, and they have a high excursion 5.25 inch driver. Paper is the material used in both drivers and paper is the best to use cause it makes the sound very natural sounding. I got them used for only $100. They were only 2 years old too. Very good deal. I love bose. Do you like Bose?

Why is Sanders not using Any idea of a curve now If it's so good. If the CLS is still discussed today. Where is it. It was the best IMO. Of any M. L.

All Martin Logans still use curved electrostat panels. and the CLS is back in production, as the CLX-art. The new version is even more amazing than the original...

Ouch, with the name calling, and you're the one comparing a portable speaker to towers. It's impossible for a portable speaker to have the same quality, range, and sound staging as a towers. I don't understand your hangup on Ipod docks. Speaker systems (Towers) will need to be played through a receiver Ala that becomes your "Dock" via USB or wireless with Air Play. If you want a mobile speaker go buy your Bose or whatever. I don't know what the problem is?

True, but I think Ml should go into thoes markets just to see if they would measure up to Bose. I think if ML made a high powered PA type speaker, it would sell lots of units. Bose is known around the world and they are loved by all. I love bose. They have I think a higher sound quality over ML by far. Ml is expensive and doesnt sound that great. I've listend to Ml and didn't like it. I love bose however and when I become a pro DJ, I will buy bose. I really think ML needs a PA speaker line up :)
@eaveschristopher

Should I go onto apple's page and complain how terrible they are because they don't manufacture their own docking station? No. Because that's not there market. Currently ML's market is not portable docks or small business, or etc. They manufacture Electric static panels for home theater or music use. Just because they don't make the product you want doesn't make them not good. They are premier audio in their select market. Stop comparing apples and rocks. Buy your Bose dock nobody is stoping you

Or some Altech Lansing speakers. They've been around for 70 years and make very good speakers. Yes I do know a lot about audio. I have a Peavey 1998 model XR-886 16 input powered mixing console. Now, that model is not made anymore, but the XR series is still being made. They are powering my Bose model 201 Series IV bookshelf speakers. They sound AWESOME :-D They are 60 watts RMS, but they say that they can take 120, but I'm pushing 205 watts into them and they sound clean. STFU HATERS!!!!!! :D

HA!!!! So that proves my point that rich people buy Bose wayyyyyy more then hey will ML. Bose just sounds better then ML will. Their bass systems are great. They have two 5.25 inch, high excursion drivers mounted face down inside of a Transmission type cabnet with a nice flaired port. That produses extremely loud bass that gets low and rich. The mids are extremely precise too. I have the Bose Cinemate G5 series system and I LOVE IT! The windows shake, THAT'S how loud the bass is. ML can't do it
