The History Of Marvel And DC Crossovers

Nothing makes a fan's heart skip a beat like a good inter-company crossover, especially when it's between two of the biggest names in the industry: Marvel and DC. Finally resolving the age-old disputes of "who-would-beat-who" is crucial to fans, and authors must walk a careful line between keeping true to each character, meeting fan expectations, and telling a captivating story.
The idea of Marvel and DC crossover books may sound like a fantasy relic of the past to the current comic book reader, but there was a time when titles like Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man and Batman vs. The Incredible Hulk were published on a yearly basis. For the previous decade, Marvel and DC have been at odds in comic book shops and movie theaters, but they used to be far more comfortable partnering, especially when it meant record profits for both publishers.

Too many egos involved to really appreciate any of the crossovers. Marvel mainstays took an unrealistic backseat to the DC supers. They actually had Batman kicking the Hulk in the groin knocking the wind out of him. Superman taking Thor’s hammer and Batman technically beating Cap.I know Marvel is the junior company but ain’t know way I would have succumb to those kind of DC demands.

Loved the 2nd Superman/Spiderman team-up. Dr Doom and the parasite as villains. Hulk fight Superman for the first time. Best plan EVER by Doom.
