You forgot the most legendary meme: *PINGAS!* But yeah, this video really did help, since I'm writing a book series with lots of memes involved. However, since writing books can occasionally be super slow, I have given up the idea to use *only* fresh memes in them. They will probaply consist of some semi-old, old, or dead memes, because by the time I publish a book, majority of the memes used in it have probaply already been replaced. (However, they will also have memes I make specifically for my stories). But yeah, great video! And the ending was *glorious* with Luke ranting how Sans should be playable character in smash. 😂 And I agree! Don't play smash myself, but have watched gameplay of it, and the world can *never* have too much Undert- *Dies because of WW3 that started in KZbin comment sections for mentioning Undertale.*

I really miss the 2010-2014 memes, for me that's the true memes era and what really made them great was that everybody could relate with them and put him/herself in that situation. When they started becoming popular many people didn't know what a meme is but when they see their 1st meme they instantly clicked with it and thought "oh shit I can actually relate to that". It was about ridiculous situations that you wouldn't share with many people because you thought it's weird, but when you saw the memes you realized that it actually happens to many people and it's not just you. There was the template "what normal people do/think" and "what I do/think" and it made you feel normal because you see that the ridiculous situation is actually a common/normal thing. And most importantly the point of the memes wasn't to make fun of somebody specifically, but to the whole situation and how ridiculous it is, sometimes without even realizing it until you see it. Nowadays memes are the opposite - most of them are either just random shit that makes no sense (and apparently that's funny) or targeting a specific community that people who are not familiar with won't really relate to it or understand it and if you don't, you basically become a new meme for other people to laugh about it. That's the other thing, lots of memes are made to directly mock some people or community, very often for just something random thing they did or said. That's one of the biggest differences, old memes brought people closer even if they didn't know each other, now it divides them. There are literally people who dedicate their free time (or even their whole time) to argue and make fun of other people for using different/old memes like it's some kind of turf war.

For me the Leroy Jenkins meme is relatable because at some point we had a moment when even if we weren't planning a strategy to victory, someone always goes gung-ho into the action only to get himself killed and many other times get everyone killed.

My least favorite meme era was the screamer era. I grew up in the screamer era as a little kid, where family would show me screamers videos, and I would sometimes watch a video and a random jump scare would pop-up. It was to the point where I seeked through every single video I watched just to make sure there weren't any jump scares. My family literally (dictionary definition) traumatized me with jump scare videos. In conclusion... The red eyes tree frog and the squirrel with sharp teeth are dead to me, the calm car ad zombie is pathetic, and the screamer from the exorcist calls me daddy, barks on command, wears a leash, and only "comes" when I tell her to.
