Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 were some of my favorites on NES. Use to play Iron Maiden in the background when I played them. Good times.
@JayBartlett197520 күн бұрын
Iron Maiden would be perfect to get your blood pumping for those two amazing games. ninja Gaiden two is also an incredible game and that's the one I had as a kid. Thank you for wacthing and commenting!

Excellent video, Jay! Great to see the backstory too as it seems like Ninja Gaiden had some deeper storytelling behind the gameplay.

Thanks Ken! It's interesting to see how and why the NES game turned out like it did. Thanks for watching mate!

I owned and beat all 3 Ninja Gaidens on the NES. Infinitely respawning edge of screen enemies should be illegal. There was much rage induced screaming and controller throwing.
@JayBartlett197520 күн бұрын
This game is tough plain and simple. The golden rule is don't stop moving forward. Ninja Gaiden 3 is on my list to dive into. Thank you for watching and commenting!

I dunno, it's a predictable quirk applied across the board, so it's pretty fair.
@davidaitken85039 күн бұрын
@@AndSaveAsManyAsYouCan The respawning enemies never bothered me much. Oftentimes you want to jump forward and strike. Keep moving forward.

I still have yet to beat this game. Made it to Jacquio, but just can’t beat him.
@davidaitken85039 күн бұрын
You want his fireballs to travel so quickly they fly off the screen. You do not want them to double back. As a general rule I try to be in the opposite corner of the screen than him when he fires. Strike him only when he is moving away from you. With a little patience you'll beat him. If you get good enough at the final levels you can get back up to the boss room fairly quickly too. Any boss goes down quickly with the spinning slash.

Great video and breakdown. That was quite entertaining. I’ve had the same copy of this game since I was 9 years old. Not many things at all have stayed with me as long as this game. I can’t get rid of it. I still go back and play it on occasions when I need a fix for a lightning fast, responsive game that demands accuracy that the “Souls” games can’t give me.
@JayBartlett197516 күн бұрын
That's amazing that you still have it and love it just as much. It's a game that is perfect in my opinion, and as I've said before I never had the first one, my friend did. I had the second and still love it, but the first is still the best. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

Nintendo games teach patience and resilience.

100% agreed! I think that's also one reason the Souls games are so popular. They don't hold your had either. Thanks for watching!
@ErikLarson-l9k17 күн бұрын
According to someone who worked on the game, it was a glitch that Ryu gets sent back to 6-1 when dying at the final boss, but the sadistic bastards decided to leave it in :p Also, silly advice from Nintendo Power to use the Jump & Slash against the final boss when the game takes it away after each of the 3 bosses. At least each boss stays dead even after sending you back to 6-1.

I have beaten all three Ninja Gaiden games for the NES more times than I can count over the years. The trick to beating Jaquio is to be in the opposite corner as him when he shoots. His fireballs will have so much momentum they will fly off the screen which deletes them. All these years I never knew you could destroy the demon's tail. I have always jumped slightly forward and pulled back to strike its' weak point and not touch the tail.
@JayBartlett19758 күн бұрын
Thank you for the tips! I haven't beaten him without the wall trick so this will help! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
