I think Rockstar can seem subversive and controversial in a bad sense of the word but it puts some themes on the table that no game rarely does, GTA Series with a reflection on society, Bully with Bullying, Manhunt with Deep Web like content and mental disorders and so on, people just don´t look deeper and stay on the violent surface.

The people who modify Rockstars games on PC have definitely contributed to the longevity of the games. A couple of friends and I had a server on SA:MP which is a mod that turns San Andreas into an online game. Our server had over 100,000 registered accounts. People still play San Andreas actively to this day because of that mod.

One reason for not having GTA VI is the cost of making triple AAA open world being huge. Cost in video games is related to time, that is the longer the game takes to produce the more expensive it is. I'm still waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC for better graphics :(

I loved the cheats in GTA as well. I think it forms a core part in the GTA series. Although playing them first time without cheats is amazing. To think the cheat system works instantaneously in game and modifies the running game code instantly is no small feat. especiially for their older titles. GTA IV however with its phone number dialing cheat system was just out of this world, granted slower but definitely creative.
