Knowing Eclipse/Ruin is so good at acting because he had to to survive hurts so much. I liked him as a character before but this just makes me like him and feel bad for him even more.. :( He went from being under the control of one monster to another, and the only time he felt "freedom," he used it all up trying to get back at the creators. Calling him ruin feels like an insult now too :(

Okay, dropping a second comment in- hooooo boy BUCKLE UP KIDDIES I’ve, adored Ruin. Ever-since his introduction around this time last year I’d been taken with his character immediately. I’ve loved watching him grow and change amidst the rest of the cast and make a name for himself. For the entirety OF his time with us I’d always wondered what it was like for him. Back in his home dimension- Given how Sun was treated by the denizens during his and Moon’s “visit”. What I can really appreciate about this episode is the fact that we’re given just enough concrete details to put a much clearer picture together- but there’s still room to play with CERTAIN details (duration, timeframes- etc.). As a fanfic writer/story creator I LOVE when this sort of balance is struck with a character. It gives room to play! God- Knowing what we know now, though- My heart just absolutely breaks, for him. He’s spent so long so utterly and completely alone, watching his friends waste away at the hands of his ‘father’. He’s been through so much, TOO much- HE NEEDS TO FORM BONDS WITH OTHER PEOPLE!!! And a part of me thinks we may see that, come next month… Ruin needs a hug, therapy, maybe even a new name- and all the while I am IMMENSELY terrified for Sun now that Nexus wants to enslave him too, ugh- GOD. Thanks for such a gripping, anxiety inducing episode! Genuinely- well done, as per always. I’ll probably need to rewatch the LAES episode from today, after that one… Edit: Nexus and Ruin’s creator were SO menacing in this episode too- Jesus Christ. Props to Reed! Just, slimy and nasty and UUGH-! I shuddered whenever they got overly quiet Brava 💅🏼

Ruin never wanted to kill, he was forced to kill. Since the beginning, Ruin was just a broken, controlled, and traumatized fusion hybrid of Sun and Moon with a virus that didn't affect him, but was forced to kill and continue doing what he was told until October 2023, and not to mention he was doing this for 50 years actually hurts.

I remember reading in a Solar x Ruin fanfic, the Ruin of that fic, that was cured for the virus, changed his name for Atlas, and honestly i think this name is quite fitting for him, for a fact i've been calling him that for a while. The meaning is somenthing like: "Someone with a great burden". But there is already another caracther with this name in the show, so i think i'll have to find somenthing else.

Here's a potential timeline of events: Nexus takes a moment where Moon isn't nearby and disguises himself as Moon to gain dazzles trust. before kidnapping her. Nexus then makes a deal with sun to free dazzle in exchange for his enslavement. Nexus knows who dazzle is, and would probably end up finding out that sun is very protective of her. Plus it could possibly negate the risks of getting other family members involved like lunar or Earth.

I'm surprised R!Eclipse wasn't affected by the Virus from the start and was putting on a act but I feel horrible since he watched he friends turn into monsters and he was the only one unaffected by the virus he must have survivors guilt from that also it was Creator who first called him Ruin ... he must hate the name because of that , but what do we call him then ? there's many Eclipses and Ruin must give him horrible memories also when Creator said the kid he brought for R!Eclipse to kill name is Andrew ... WHAT !! as in THAT Andrew ?! Wow ... Nexus is a horrible being torturing R!Eclipse like that SOMEONE COME SAVE HIM ! p.s : hope everyone in the comments is doing alright

Aah hell yeah! I said it before I’ll repeat it again, the base concept of Ruin’s character is the most interesting, underrated and complex one among all the cast members and it could easily earn a spin off series that explains his backstory and what happened to that mess of a dimension he came from. Change my mind.

OH MY GOD YES. literally his character is so underrated...I wished people liked him more. even though its unlikely, he would he so perfect for a spinoff series. no other character needed, just Ruin, his thoughts and adventures. it'll probably never happen, but I at least hope this show does a good job at exploring his full potential as a character and all of his complexities

We look into Ruin's past at long last, dang.. it seems like his Monty and him were really good friends, poor Monty though starting to lose their mind and unable to control themselves. Seems that Ruin though was able to control himself best despite being infected with the virus, he had to put on a whole act to make sure his Friends wouldn't dare to hurt him or worse. Poor guy blames himself though for not working fast enough to save them from this virus. Then there was the creator showing up, naturally able to see through his act and force him to do as he wanted. It makes more and more sense of why Ruin Eclipse wanted to rid his Creator and many others.. (Also the thumbnail reminds me so much of that moment in Deadpool and Wolverine movie, people who seen it will know what I'm talking about- that's so freaky and cool-)

Okay. So we all know how Ruin had the virus right but wasn't affected by it. I think I have a theory what if them merging while they were plugged in and doing the thing canceled out the virus so that it wouldn't have as much of an effect. It could be a possible explanation.
