The hard cover book that this box set comes with is really interesting. The set from Strictly Limited has been fully translated into English. It’s a really beautiful set.

Yep Space invaders, Pacman, Ms Pacman, I spent so much money on the game. I love the Package of the game but its way to much money to get this game. My first arcade game i played was Pong 1972 it was like yesterday. Then Speed Race with the first wheel to drive the game in 1974. Man i think i played every game that came out. I work for an arcade place for more than 20 years.

Just picked up Space Invaders Taito 40th anniversary arcade 1 up and Galaga Bar top 1up for 100 bucks a piece. God I love Space invaders still. Still holds up IMHO.

Small correction: Space Invaders Extreme is from 2008, not 2018. It was released for the DS and you could plug an optional paddle controller into the GBA slot of a DS to act as a retro controller. Paddles like on the Atari, it's a pretty sweet little thing

Yeah that version was released in 2008, so makes sense. But going off when this version was released was 2018.

I was almost ready to give this a complete pass until I saw the Space Invaliders re-imagining at the end of the video. I grew up in the late 1980's and 1990's missing most of these games. I mean, I have played them but I hold no nostalgia for them but that rework looks really neat.

You can already get this right now by buying the Japanese version. They actually updated it with English and the three missing games. They also updated G-Darius HD with English. Cotton however wasn’t updated with English (after the game originally came with English and then they patched it out those bastards)

If yours was an import copy (mine was) just create a Japanese profile on Switch and change to it, then you can enter the DLC and it will work. I had to do the same with the Bayonetta Collector's Edition except in that case it was a European profile.

Sucks that it has both Super Space Invaders ’91 & Majestic Twelve which are the same game but not Return Of The Invaders (the 3rd arcade game) and Space Invaders '95: Attack of Lunar Loonies/Akkanvader. I'm guessing the inclusion of those 2 versions of the same game was a mistake. I could understand how they included the B&W & color versions of the original since it was the 1st game, but not 2 versions of the 4th game.

Game was only £16 on the Switch over Christmas, far less than it's £60 normal price so I snapped it up. For those of a certain age like geriatric me it was a steal! 😂

Great review, this collection looks awesome. Wow looks like a lot of games on there. Ive wanted a legit space invaders collection for years that had more than just a few games.

@@MKF30 there’s only one digital Japanese version. Originally that version was only in Japanese and was missing the three games from the special physical edition. Some days ago they updated the digital version with English and the three missing games. By the way they also updated G-Darius HD with English recently

Space invaders extreme part of the video needs to have an epileptic seizure warning with all the flashing and colors a person might watch the video and have a seizure induced by that part of the video. I wasn't sure if you have one or not just giving you the heads up.
