Ian, the changes will be like never before, I agree. As teachers, we need to find new ways to combine the experience of the social aspect of learning in a classroom and the vast technology that is available on the web. School is beginning to look different.

The technology where students research with their educator is the most appropriate for today's times. We are in constant transformation. This is not to say that the baggage of knowledge, experience of the past generation is discarded, but rather, it is like a safe haven in the evolutionary balance of this present generation, as it has had more time to absorb concepts of human coexistence that are nowadays. fragmented to the importance of other / more interests that requires more skills, competences to evolve in the current context that configures a 21st century teaching-learning appropriate in our society.

Technological advances have reached and improved several areas, especially the educational sector, which was positively impacted. This is due to the ease of obtaining information more quickly, or the improvement and evolution of learning in a very innovative way.

The video describes history of education in technology from cave drawing era to the present days. As a school girl, I started from audio-visual era. In English Language classes, a teacher used a audio casette to present particular sounds or listen to English conversations. It was quite cahllenging since the listen twice, the techer should have fast forward the recording. Because of technological advancement in education teaching process has become easier and more interesting. As for me, I have been teaching more than 12 years and facing various ICT tools which enable teachers make their learners motivated and encouraged in the class. Teaching methods that use technology and digital is aimed at students studying at their own pace, scheduling time appropriately, and well-prepared recipients for the classroom teaching process. The aforementioned advantages make the teaching process more convenient and flexible for both learners and teachers.

We were taught these principles at an early age, so it is our responsibility to remember them and practice them in the future. At this time and age of our society we cannot afford to do long division or multiplication simply because we can. Our society has grown to the point where how we learn new material is completely different from previous methods. We're evolving, and so we have to adapt to our evolutionary paths, we can't stick to one form of learning because that would be counterproductive

I liked the video. Technology is important, but it has to be about the pedagogy. For some classes, students are doing the same things that they did on a cave wall, chalkboard, individual slates as they do today with IWB's & Ipads. The tech is much more powerful than that. The real issue about the next iteration of ed will be, are we willing to make pedagogical changes that might mean challenging established systems like report cards, schools with walls, a local teacher, courses, grades, etc...

Wicked video, thanks. And if anyone has any general information on Manuscript Transcription or it's impact around the time of 382AD that they can share, it'd be really grateful if you could send it on. This period of time seem really pertinent to my current research inquiry into how technology enhances education

Punching numbers into a machine in proper sequence compared to understanding the relationships between numbers within the whole system is devolving. Don't mistake familiarity with consumer electronics with intellectual progress and learning.

The class room of tomorrow will not be in a school per say but rather in a new building based upon the open source spread of ideas on both public and private land they will consist of a library-auditorium-workshop and will be departmentalized by topic, they will be available to the public for free or small admission fee like museums, and ideas will be researched built upon prototyped and shared, tuition is paid for in new ideas not money.

Not much of a look into the future from Smart. A person goes through grade school, then on to get a teaching degree and walks into a room with the exact same system that he had used more than ten years before. I'd like to see that a company is looking further into the future than that.

Isn't it odd that in spite of the lower tech roesources of trheir time older folks seem to have had a far more effective education than the kids of nowadays? Technology has come to help, but what's more important is that it must be coupled with the most apropriate methodoly and totally rid of ideological indoctrination.
