kazakhstan controls that part and is actively trying to preserve the Aral Sea, while uzbekistan controls the southern part and uses it for irrigation for their cotton, so they aren’t trying to preserve it

@@bla-tNo, The cause is why Norther part of Aral Sea didn't dry off is Syrdarya is watering it and Amudarya which waters south of sea can't arrive to the sea , Despite sea is located between Uzb and Kaz, the majority of these two rivers are come from Kaz and Turkmenistan but yes Uzbekistan uses them too but we should mention that Uzbekistan's population is equal to half population of Central Asia

Out of curiosity, what kind of sources do you use for a video like this? I imagine the documentation of these coastlines isn’t always accurate thorough the years, considering it is such a turbulent and underdeveloped region, plus we have only had satellite imaging for less than a century now

Actually Aral Sea was dried up because water was diverted to cotton crops, a large part of which was used to produce explosives for the Soviet Army.

When soviet was formed, Soviets seperated water ways from the two river that supplies water to Aral sea for cotton production. Yes. Turkic countrys in reigion still produces lots of cotton. But they payed its cost by losing Aral sea and lots of Salt storms.

Северная часть Каспийского моря очень мелкая. Там всё может зависеть буквально от того, был год влажный, или сухой. Даже на видео показано, что береговая линия сильно менялась в разные стороны. Что же до Аральского моря, то есть доказательство, что его разлив и пересыхание - периодический процесс
