Thomas E. Macht was a part of the company that Universal contracted to build the Firehouse/Ghostbusters Spooktacular back in the late 80's for open in 1990. He passed away in 2002 and was memorialized on the window.

Contrary to popular belief, the proton streams in the first film were not CGI, but painstakingly hand-drawn frame by frame. The ghosts were also not CGI, but live-action effects put into the film using a machine called an Optical Printer. Silmer was portrayed by an actor. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

I LOVED the Ghostbusters show…was saddened when Universal announced they were getting rid of it. I’m happy that they brought the Ghostbusters back and went to HHN both in 2019 and 2024….loved both houses.

@@ForTheLoveOfThemeParksVlogsSince you are asking, I would love to see a video of this nature about the original Kongfrontation ride that used to be at Universal Studios. I loved it much better than the Kong ride at Islands. I know what mean about the time it takes to research and edit. I started last year late summer in 2023 doing my research and getting all of my content in Macon, Ga for two huge videos that will come out next year. The first one is a walking/driving tour I did of all of the venues in Macon where many of the unknown and upcoming singers and bands played during their early years. People like Little Richard, Otis Redding, James Brown, The Allman Brothers and many others. I still haven't finished the editing and still gathering still pics to insert of the places on video. Lots of work. But after I complete this one and get it uploaded, I'll start on the second one which should really be awesome. It will be exclusively about The Allman Brothers. It will have locations where pictures were taken of them in Macon. Also their graves, the intersections where Duane and Berry were killed on their motorcycles, plus a lot more. This one will be huge bro. I hope you will be interested in checking them out when I get them uploaded next year, hopefully before the Springtime.

For a Sony owned franchise Universal's affiliation with the Ghostbusters outside of their own movies was always one of the most fascinating parts of their theme park history for me to want to learn as much as I could about online, having sadly never gotten to see that original Spooktacular attraction personally. It's been great seeing how much of a huge comeback the GB have made in the Orlando park again this year, making them feel back "at home" in a way since being one of the main movie properties that originally highlighted the park on its opening day, and I'd hope it can lead to seeing more stuff done with them at Universal again in the future.

Honestly with Universal securing the theme park rights to Ghostbusters again, it would be a bit odd for them to only use them for the Mega Movie Parade and Cinesational. It seems like the PERFECT opportunity to do meet & greets or even bring back Streetbusters given the ongoing popularity of both Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice.

There seems to be rumblings of new street entertainment debuting at the parks soon, we'll have to wait and see if Streetbusters will make a comeback! I'd be all for it! 🙌

They had them going all around the park during the 90s, so with any renewed rights to the franchise and characters there shouldn't be any reason they couldn't do so again or that they'd have to be seen exclusively in the Mega Movie Parade. Seeing that they've just added a brand new Ecto-1 for them to drive around in in the parade like the one they drove through the park in in the 90s is definitely a start.

​@@ForTheLoveOfThemeParksVlogs If Fallon ever leaves and Universal ever decided they wanted to develop another big attraction for the Ghostbusters license outside of the haunted houses then it would only be right for it to be built in their New York area where Spooktacular once stood, maybe even re-opening the original firehouse entrance for it if possible. They were always meant to be specifically themed to that area of the park anyway, since they've always operated in New York as we all know.
