Mount Stewart in County Down is home to a rare example of paper bed hangings. Made popular in London in 1873, the paper bed hangings include a canopy, curtains and valance. In 2021, the conservation team carefully dismantled the collection to be sent away to specialists. The National Trust took the opportunity to share an insight into the conservation work through six conservations with the team. The first in the series is with Mount Stewart Curator Dr Christopher Warleigh-Lack shares the background to the bedroom and these precious paper hangings.
