The Cincinnati Reds needed the team to play in the New York every year end of story- Why did Dallas enter the NFL before Cincinnati in 1962?

Honestly, you explain the history of baseball the best. Just the respect that you give to the players and the game itself is great. You genuinely remind me why I love this sport.

Know I'm a year late, but, _strongly agree_. All of the above, orated like a New Yorker would (whilst also not the least bit obnoxious), and, really, when talkin' the Mets, I wouldn't've had it delivered in any other means.

I got chills of excitement watching the finish of Game 6 of 1986 World Series. The homer from Ray Knight in Game 7 did the Red Sox in and it was all but over for them. I had been a Mets fan since 1983 when I started to read the scouting report on some guy the same age as me named Strawberry. This was an awesome video covering the history of the Mets. Thanks for posting from John in Calgary Alberta Canada.

The Giants didn't win it in 1951. The Yankees won it all from 1949-1953. Don't shortchange my boys. We don't have enough 😂😂😂😂

1:13 "Jackie Robinson, who was infamous for breaking the color barrier." I think you meant to say "famous." "Infamous" means being well known for some bad quality or deed. While you're discussing the Giant/Dodger rivalry in New York, I couldn't help but notice that the photo of Mays and Koufax at 1:39 was taken after the Giants and Dodgers had left New York (note their caps); likewise, the photo at 1:43 is of Juan Marichal just after he hit Dodger catcher John Roseboro with his bat; this incident took place in 1965. Nice video overall! 🙂

You got it completely wrong about the Dodgers leaving.. 1. Attendance had been in a steady decline at Ebbetts Field. And they only had 700 parking spaces. 2, O'Malley wanted to build a state of the art domed stadium at Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues... and Robert Moses said "no" and would only offer the Dodgers a site in Queens (where Shea eventually was built).. O'Malley worked for YEARS to keep the Dodgers in Brooklyn until it became clear that the Dodgers would have to move out of Brooklyn to stay in NY. Flushing Meadows may as well have been 3000 miles away

Game 6 of 86 is one of those 'I remember right where I was' type moments... When the ball went through Buckner's legs I was pounding on my friend's floor screaming 'Holy shit they won!... They Won!'... It was the first time his landlady ever gave him hell for too much noise coming from his place... Good times...

@@theentertainahtalkinsports8799 Dude the NLCS series that year against Houston was just as good... Not many talk about that but it was... I'm looking forward to seeing how JD Davis and Alonso pan out this year... We should be much better but it will be damned hard to beat that 86 team in quality of character and talents as far as the players... they just 'jelled' perfectly with each other

Dude, you have a lot of wrong facts. The Giants did not win 1951 World Series. Los Angeles did not build O’Malley a stadium. He built it himself. LA was able to condemn Chavez Ravine in exchange for Wrigley Field (Los Angeles) in downtown LA. He also didn’t want to leave Brooklyn. It’s that New York refused to do the same with a property in Brooklyn. Also, the Giants we’re going to leave New York regardless. They were initially set to relocate to Minnesota. I stopped listening once you got into the Mets.
@1ERock319 ай бұрын
You might want to check the history of the area. They did better than build the park for O'Malley. They basically gave him the land that was originally taken using eminent domain.
