I have HUGE respect for truckers. As a kid in the 70s, I wanted to be one (but..I got into media instead). Are you a Trucker? Tell me about it in the comments. And please subscribe so you don't miss my weekly mini-movie documentaries.

Most do it as a job , not career. No pride or honor in their profession. This is what I wanted to do since growing up in the 70’s/80’s. Been doing it for 24 years now 12 as an owner operator

i got my CDL in 2017 and drive locally. i make over 100K per year. i haul milk from the farmers bulk tanks. there is MONEY in the right parts of trucking. many dont have much pride but that's pretty much everywhere in the workforce, people's work ethics are terrible these days.

i am a truck driver myself, but i haul milk. i am home daily. $25 per hour and overtime after 40, milk is ag exempt so i can work as much as i want. typical weeks 75+ hours, but i make 100k+ average annually without living in a truck. i have a class A and drive a tractor with tanker trailer, i pickup raw milk from the famers bulk tanks.

im a trucker and most people who do it because its the most money we can make , downside is road life is often frustrating because its hard or impossible to find quality food to eat and u go days without a shower sometimes bur once u are good at driving and have done the same job a couple years the job gets pretty easy but the road never changes , the road is like being out in a desert and u have a fantasy of what your going to do when u finally park at a truckstop , like a mirage , then u get there and its a total let down food sucks , prolly out of what u want and the showers are expensive or nasty or closed

theres a reason that -- during war -- logistics is among the first of things to get interrupted. (logistics and communication) it works. but that doesnt mean truckers should get political, nor should the companies they work for disregard their needs. like air conditioners in their trucks. looking at you UPS.

I wanted to be one as a kid of the 70’s and 80’s always pumping my arm, listening to them shift ,loving the jake braking. Now they get hung out in the left lane with stupid governors ( should have a push to pass governor override) Let’s be honest bad pay and over regulated brings some bad truckers too. What’s the answer higher pay and speak English 😊

I am a fan of your channel and love the content. However, I'll disagree with some of this video. I've drove for 24 years with the past 18 of them as an owner operator. Owning my own truck has provided me better income and flexibility rather than a company driver. The difficulty getting started as a young adult is insurance regulations and home time. Once you have a few years under your belt, most certainly you can be home daily. I couldn't imagine a better career path for myself. A lot has changed since I've started driving, but that's evolution, and it doesn't favor everyone at every turn. Transportation will always be the circulatory system of the world and an honorable profession. Proud to be a part of it. 2023/2024 NTTC Professional Tank Truck Driver of the Year Grand Champion.

I’ll tell you one other thing though that kind of bothers you is that when you’re out here you’re out here alone and you need the other people that participate in this thing called civilization to do their part but you can’t always count on that and you have no control and no input on the outcome or the process of anything that you encounter along your way and that can be very frustrating
