Very clever, finding a way of transferring the heat off a friction chord to a metal plug, not unlike a munter or a figure 8. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

@@philosborn1840 It has its place and it was just too easy and functional not to add.

Enjoyed the video. Looks like a really functional SRT device. I climb MRS mostly using a ZigZag (SRT with chicane to go up initially). I see the benefits of SRT. Appreciate your love for tree climbing.

I'll see. Not a huge priority for me and a couple of labs are not returning my requests.

Is there much sitback on the device when ascending? Thanks
@RichardMumford12 жыл бұрын
When ascending there is no sit-back. If a climber only took a step or two then sat back each time, it would not be efficient. The advantage to not having another tending point or having to worry about a carabiner side loading or getting flop with slack in the ascent, is well worth it to me.
@RichardMumford12 жыл бұрын
About sit-back, I find it not to be an issue. I make my ascent then sit back, so a few inches out of 50 feet is not significant. If it bothered my I will take the Swing Arm and move the body up and push the hitch up and illuminate all sit back before I 'sit-back'. What always bothered me is having slack on a carabiner attachment during SRT ascent, sitting back to discover the carabiner is sideways or reversed or moved in some other manner. That is my life support and while an SRT device is being tending, for most climbers, it is slack. Having to use keepers or captive eye carabiners to keep things from being side loaded bothered me. The Swing-Arm is designed to be unaffected by being unloaded. It self orienting, will not go sideways, or have a gate that gets cross loaded.

To much bs new climbers don't waist your money nothing works like the old fashioned...keep it simple buy a 16 or 12 strand rope don't used fricción savers or rope runner it takes tu much time to set all that bs trust me don't waist your money 😊😊
