Simple answer, there isn't. They're in both timelines at once. There's past B&B who traveled through time (B&B do the Universe), which are the young ones in current times; and there's B&B who didn't travel through time (B&B do America) who are the old ones and never scored and live off unemployment (they get paid to do nothing).

Most likely for the episodes where past B&B die it’s another alternate universe, as in a branching timeline involving past Beavis and Butthead. Basically meaning in the main timeline they are alive, but in alternate timelines like this one they are dead. Since there is a multiverse however it’s a shame we haven’t seen episodes involving other alternate versions of them, the multiverse concept does have a lot of potential for this series.
