@2000toddowen11 жыл бұрын
Just a side note- Doctor Zhivago wasn't released in the UK until April 1966. So that's when the film on this vid was obviously taken. And I remember seeing it at one of the local drive-in's. Probably for the best, because I would have likely been too noisy and full of questions in a cinema. He he he. Now that I remember it, my family always laughed about how we all had to leave the theater at the beginning of 2001:A Space Odyssey because I became hysterical over the apes screeching.

I see Dr. Zhivago on the movie marquee. I still remember being three and going to see that. The opening Russian funeral scene is so haunting. I think that was the first time I ever became aware of our own mortality. I remember the entire movie pretty much. It's amazing how a movie of that length and topic could captivate a three year old mind. Times were very different back then. What do kids of three watch these days?

Ah that magical summer of 1965 - when Britain set the pace in both music and fashion. The Hollies really were Manchester's finest - and I do celebrate the cultural diversity we have in our country today - toleration of differences has always been our strength.
@arnoldcruste245710 жыл бұрын
Repeating a politically correct claim many times doesn't make it factually correct. Why does "tolerance" have to include handing over entire countries to people fundamentally different than one's own, and completely obliterating the future of the latter?
@northwesterncorgi10 жыл бұрын
Arnold Cruste I was merely stating something that I actually believe - just as others have and are entitled to do. It was the 'ethnic cleansing' metaphor that I thought ill chosen.
@davek.593910 жыл бұрын
John Ward The so 'Tolerance' 'Political Correctness' movement is another leftist diversion that is Communism. 'Political Correctness ' is a phrase actually used by the communist government of China in an article in the Los Angeles Times in the mid 90's. Saw it myself, I remember it and make sure to mention it in conversations such as this. Following Jesus Christ is the true tolerance,"Love your neighbor as yourself," Love one another ...", the words of Jesus Christ, not the communist left wing pap propaganda called 'Tolerance' meant to rob, subvert, brainwash advanced western civilization and culture locally, nation wide, and across the world. - David K. 8/31/14
