I remember all the awesome nights they played at the Ale House when I worked the door, and especially that Mike Barfield and his wife mailed me cookies and copies of their music CDs when I was stationed in Iraq and emailed him that I miss my Glorious Texas sounds in the stinky desert. I brought him back a flag over our base there in his honor, but that could not touch the joy a little Texas brought to this hillbilly far from home.

Best band ever out of Houston, TX. I miss seeing Cletus on the stand up base. Rest in peace Eric Danheim. You may be able to buy one of the guitars he made at Big Tex Guitars. You can still catch Mike Barfield at The Continental Club in Austin & Houston. Cletus plays with Davin James & teaches guitar. Snit has his Snit’s Dog & Pony Show in Houston. He sings & plays guitar and works at Rockin Robin Guitars on S Shepherd.

Ol’ Eddie Dale left us way too soon but he sure could twang his red Tele. Also loved his Strat, Greenie. If Greenie could talk, there’d be some stories. The Hollisters were always a fun show.
