Marilyn magnetized the camera like no other in the world. You can love her or hate her, but she printed her name in the history and remains an unsurpassed icon and source of inspiration still today . This is a fact.

That was Sheree North. The studio hired her when she was 19 to threaten Monroe with younger girls. Monroe liked North and they became friends despite being pitted against each other. So North knew, first hand what a good person she was.

I think too many documentaries on her focus on her tragic death, whether it was a suicide or not, rather than how much she worked, what she did for the world, and how truly wonderful she was. I’m glad this documentary covered Norma Jeane, rather than Marilyn Monroe 🖤

One of the better MM docs if only because so many of the people who remembered her were still alive (including the narrator). I think this was made in 1982 as a 20th anniversary type deal, so it was pretty special. A lot of big names here. I also like it because it simply ignored the conspiracy garbage, which even otherwise good docs feel they have to address (if only to debunk). For those looking for a good overview, this is a good one.

A lot of people commenting are saying Celeste seemed jealous and bitchy over Marilyn. I thought the same when she started speaking of her, and could understand why she would feel that way, but notice that she DID give her a LOT of credit and wonderful compliments. She spoke the truth that SHE knew about her, not what everyone else knew. So I respect her opinion. Keep in mind that I am a huge Marilynette, I'm just speaking my opinion based on Celeste's view point off of this documentary.

photographer says at 4:55 min that "Her hair was kinky" what does that mean, she has wavy hair but not kinky, WTF?
@scottvanhorn62194 жыл бұрын
Norma's hair was fine and wavy. She had a thick undercoat to it, so much she could hardly get a brush through it. She could not use a comb till after it was straightened. The comb would be jerked out of her hand. Her combs had coarse far apart teeth so as to damage as little of her hair as possible. It was fine as well. So fine it changed color in direct sunlight.
@WakeAndWatchMinistries3 жыл бұрын
@@scottvanhorn6219 Point is that “kinky” is far from what her hair was. Black people have kinky hair. She had wave hair. Not even frizzy.
@scottvanhorn62193 жыл бұрын
@@WakeAndWatchMinistries I do not believe I said she had kinky hair. I believe I said she had a thick under coat under her wavy hair which was straightened and colored blond at the suggestion of a photographer. I do not know why the author of this said she had kinky hair. Either way it seems to be a description and a rather symantical one. My suggestion would be that you ask the author this question.

The beauty mark, mole, on her face appears in later life. She had it put on by an eye brow pencil. She did it to remind a child that they would always be close to her. She loved children so much, and would always take time for a child or group of children.

Marilyn had 2 flesh coloured moles on her face. One on her cheek and the other on her chin! Foundation would cover them most of the time but she would occasionally use pencil to define them over her foundation. Hope this helps ❤️
