The counter part in NYC was The Rehearsal Club founded in 1913-1979 and re vitalized in 2019 as a 501c3 and active today, with a new residency. Stage Door was based on The Rehearsal Club, not the Barbizon. Many many went on to great celebrity, from Audrey and Jayne Meadows, to Carol Burnett, Sandy Duncan, Diane Keaton the list goes on and on. I thought "The Killing" was going to be mentioned as the can't-miss Windsor performance- she is fantastic as one of film noir's nastiest pieces of work. Also love any mention of Dorothy Malone, so it was great to hear what she had to say about the club (have a video tribute to Malone, and a couple tributes to the gals of film noir- good and bad- on my channel). Haven't heard anything about the history of the club, so this one was especially interesting. And I know it's out of the wheelhouse, but I'd love to hear you both talk a little about the upcoming Oscars and who you'd like to see win in the big categories, either at the end of one of these videos, or in a separate video.

So interesting and historical knowing the Farrah Fawcett lived here as she arrived here from Chorpus Christie Texas to make it in hollywood and was one of the last stars who lived there before it was officially closed in 1975. I wish they had something like that for men actors too who struggled and many slet in their car while looking for a job in a major studio.this could have heled men actors too. Nice to here over 10,000 actresses wanting fame many styaed and lived here.Wow,what history from Farrah Fawcett!

This was very interesting as I dud not know much. I thought Marilyn stayed at the Hollywood Hotel. I bet the wives of the studio heads helped out to try and dissuade the girls from the casting couch. Hays was such a prude...he reminds me of Frank Burns from MASH. I wish it could be a museum one could stroll through and read about the building and famous people who stayed there. Have you done a post about the Hollywood Hotel? Or what about the great restaurants Like The Brown Derby? I don't know why her name popped into my head but did Peg Entwhistle ever stay there. Sorry if I spelled her name incorrectly.
