And you're right in the sense that they never put them on their website but there were individuals who had contacted them and asked about bolsters to be made. The Holts are incredible people and do their best to provide for their customers. Owning several specters myself I've experienced their kindness firsthand

I enjoyed looking at this piece of eye candy but on the lock side it would appear the inlay would allow for excessive dust/dirt to build-up. I don't know how difficult it would have been but if they would have fit it to the CNC machining of the frame/scale as they did on the front I would have liked it more. I do enjoy the craftmanship and artwork of this piece. Very Nice!

Nick, this knife is drop dead gorgeous. From Google, "The definition of custom-made is built to a specific order or specifications." I get knife reviewers struggle with language, e.g. custom made, hand made, production, CNC, eh... "bolster lock." This is the very definition of custom. You and the Holt's worked out a design made just for you. Doubtful there will ever be another like it. I have gone round with Doc F on this, where's the bolster? It's a frame lock, maybe we could say with Faux bolster... maybe. As to handmade, etc? That's another conversation. Beautiful knife. Nicely thought out with complimentary choices of materials rather than a little bit of everything. You 3 did well.

It's an awesome knife but you just can't get them. They sell one or two knives a week max (they skip weeks a lot too) using their lotto system. I mean I know nothing about CNC machining but is it really that slow of a process? Knife making must just a hobby for them because there's no way they're making a decent living with the amount of knives they're currently selling. To each their own but if I could make knives of this caliber it would definitely be my full time job.

These look like beautiful knives. Everything I’ve seen and read, just gorgeous. Unfortunately, it’s another “get on a list, after the opening of the books” situation I absolutely hate. Obviously it works for the knife makers, but it doesn’t work for me. Very Very nice knives, but there’s similarity nice knives, of similar quality, that are made continuously, making getting one more achievable for us mere mortals.

This Holt is a work of art. I've been able to obtain every other knife that I want. However, I can't figure out how to get a Holt. There's a bunch of games and there's Facebook (which gets a bad rap from those who value privacy). Even hard to get knives, I've been able to get. There is no comment here by Nick about the lack of availability of these knives and the weird methods of obtaining a Holt knife. This knife is not a user, it is a collectible. Attempting to get this domestic knife makes no sense. Jumping through hoops and all of this stuff is just a horrible and ugly thing. Again, here is a lengthy review on a knife you can't get. How about the ugly in how this company turns a knife into some sort of scavenger hunt. AF
