Beyond the Red Mirror is Blind Guardian's Magnum Opus. Their highest achievement. I have been blasting this album ever since it came out. I can't even listen to their old stuff the same anymore. It doesn't compare. I know this isn't a popular take, but it's how I feel.
@ketzakov32914 жыл бұрын
I agree in parts. Imaginations is my fav by them, Nightfall comes in a close second. But I would certainly put Beyond The Red Mirror above everything else for sure.
@StrawberryLegacy4 жыл бұрын
A Night At The Opera remains my favorite but this one is a close second, also The Throne is my all time favourite Blind Guardian song now!!

The last album "at the edge of time" is up there too
@carlosluismendez73923 жыл бұрын
The songwriting is strong in that record but the production is bad. Also Twilight Of The Gods is a bad song. They have only two really weak records. ATITM and FTB. The rest are really strong.
@Gunplabro3 жыл бұрын
@@carlosluismendez7392 I disagree. First of all there are no bad blind guardian albums, so leave. Second of all Twilight of the Gods is fucking awesome. Get out again.

I got the new album: Legacy of the Dark Lands, and i can safely say that the Story of Arthur (the main character from Beyond the Red Mirror album) continues. ;D

No that album is based off a German novel set in the 1800s. Nothing to do with this album whatsoever.

haha, good luck getting an answer on that. This song is part of a concept album, though, so even to start understanding it, one would have to contextualize within the album.

Well, maybe you can summarize the whole plot of the album, I've bought it already, but I'm still don't grasp the story.

This comment was from shawnyboy97. Good information. In this song, we see that the Chosen one, destined to save both our world and Discordia. He was defeated previously by Mordred (kinda the anti-chosen one) and now had been ressurected by Mother Time ("Magana Eterna), a god of Discordia. He needs the holy grail to defeat Mordred and return peace to both worlds.

Where are the frigging tom toms. Man, double base and snare for ages and ages, and so few tom tom work. Just why Frederick? Aren't you bored while playing this to such a great song Fred? Srsly.

Mordred .. Discordia... Is this based upon the Dark Tower??? Really no connection?
@MidniteCrusaider5 жыл бұрын
The blind guardian albums tell a story about Arthur from the here and now, which is ruled by Caesar and his technocracy, and Mordred from the promised land (Camlann), which becomes discordia after the fall of the nine I believe. It's a story they themselves made, but it draws from and connects all of their favorite works of fiction in a single universe.

Honestly I think that the choir doesn´t feel BG´s music. Its too technical and the staccato way they sing and emphasize single syllables (carry the fla-ha-ha-ha-hame) sounds too well-behaved, stiff and church-like to me. I immediately imagine a conductor who knocks with his stick on every fucking note they have to sing :D
