If you have limitations accepting caravan activities (e.g. Mining, foraging) it seems to be due to having an animal in your caravan. Would suggest splitting the caravan up before trying to remove animals, or use the camp mod to just leave your animals there next to settlement for the day so that you can actually do an activity.

Would be cool as the series progresses you let the "gods" add more challenges like adding a zombie plague,making a new xenotype that'll hunt the nomads,acidic rain,animals having high change of having tainted meat etc

@@IslandPotato I know I was just trying to give you a few ideas😅but also if you finish this playthrough another playthrough idea that might be fun would be one where you can only have goblins like orcs, that weird egg laying thing etc and the goal would be to build a thriving community where all green skins could live together and be united against the elves, humans and dwarves that want to see their kind exterminated😁I first got this idea when you got that colonist that was a goblin sub race that lays eggs and I saw that their are more goblin races and I thought it would make a cool playthrough since they'd all probably have their own strengths like the fast egg laying thing could make a good scout/ranger unit since they are very fast and could easily pick off melee units

You COULD build up home base a bit as a sort of.. Storage place. Maybe later on, as your group develops, it could be a shelter for children and prisoers and a couple guards? Iunno, thinking out loud

The plan is to settle down at some point in some sort of fashion, as eventually being nomadic with a large group is more expensive than the rewards we will get from quests! Will still be nomadic afterwards, but will have at least a few people semi permanently at the base to tend and protect it :)

Maybe instead of nerfing the chest, you can make it so that they can't be bought? You can only get them as a quest reward and sometimes find them in the world (in eneymy camps, dungeons, etc)

it's nice to see someone doing the story. So many people are just focusing on making the biggest baddest fortress they can and ignoring the story aspect of the game. The new DLC will open up even more possibilities that I am excited to see.@@IslandPotato

Wow, what a bummer; doing all that work then no Masterwork Bow or Mithril (or a hilarious Persona Log, lol. That has to be a special hell for the AI, it must've made someone REALLY mad). And a ten-year-old weapons expert and drug addict? I think poor Smog seems more like a child soldier than Esme. Also, I'm glad that Green was able to be recruited or converted (I always mess it up and the slaves I free always run off, lol). She'll be a powerful lieutenant for Brent and spreading the word of their goddess. What is the goddess' name, anyway? Does she have one? I looked up Brutus (the Ceasar assassin one) and his wives were named Claudia and Portia. Since the female is named Brutus maybe one of those, or change it to the male version like Claude? I don't know if it's a good name but maybe. Keeping up with the "Ides of March" theme maybe Mark and Antony (or Tony / Antonio) for the donkeys, perhaps. The conspirators had lot of fun names, too. Anyway, thanks again for another great series! Sorry, but I just couldn't get into The Long Dark, for whatever reason. Maybe if it wasn't miserably cold here, I could have enjoyed it more. Maybe during summertime I'll watch it.

make sure you put smog on a 5 day yayo schedule so they are able to hold it in the inventory so you dont have to micro manage it? I love this idea and I would love to try this out! I am looking to do a magic medieval run after my spacer tech run im doing rn. I love the idea of a nomad run but i hadnt found anything that made it seem like a feasible dynamic run but with the mod you made - it looks like it could be super fun!! I am going to wait until its a bit later in your run so kinks can be found and worked out. This is super entertaining. Cant wait for more!

Thanks :) I think between what I have, the Vanilla outpost expanded + addons, and the up and coming vanilla expanded exploration mod - its has the makings of a very fun nomadic experience! The only thing this is really missing is more caravan incidents - currently only raiding is possible. I found one other mod - Carvan Adventures, which adds one more incident...but I think they are the only caravan incidents that exist on the workshop! The nearly released vanilla expanded exploration will add some of these, so will make a much more fun nomadic experience :)

Dromedaries are good for that. The females provide milk and are pack animals, that’s vanilla rimworld. The mods make more animals milkable and could provide some more nutrition for the colonists

Ah Dromedaries are a good shout thanks! Am tempted to add a milk mod, but I have at least 4 different pack animals I can milk in the pack anyway - one which I really want to try out from the Motz mod. But if I can’t find any of them, then I will likely add a milk mod.

So the group is now both a mobile farm and a moving nursery lmao. I mean hey living on the road and with animals should give them all the experience they need for the nomad life, and now the three kids each have friends and technically a family.

You should go looking for caravan mods or do something like a community post asking for mods to put into the modpack because base game caravaning is really lackluster and really bad for kids because you can't learn while caravaning leading to the kids being absolute shit colonists.
