With Excavator power armor, I suggest looking at the mods tab of vendor bots because they sometimes have the box mod for Calibrated Shocks (and Emergency Protocols). That way you can try to get the extra carry weight for a few caps, instead of needing the plan and then having to use Flux

I suppose a minor bonus, if you check the mods tab in any station around the Ash heap- there’s a good chance for Excavator mods like Calibrated shocks which is quite cheap to buy the mod than the plan

The Holy Fire is so awesome! I have one on my heavy gun build, and rolled a furious/faster fire/faster reload. It literally melts enemies, LOL! And thanks to Bethesda's dropped ammo mechanics, ammo is no longer an issue, especially if you do a Daily Ops once a day.

Been running with Holy fire/Plasma caster since release of this weapon. It is truly powerful build. All operations or the Pitt are easy to solo. I didn't change legendary effects, it is great as is. Fuel consumption is a downside, craft is expensive, so I'm getting ammo from the Pitt or operations. Also it breaks pretty fast even with the legendary effect of 50% slower breaking rate. Enclave plasma flamer might be stronger, but it's benefits from single shot carabins perk cards, while Heavy weapon can combine multiple strong weapons which you can swap on fly. Also take Adrenaline 5, your headshot damage with Holy fire will be around 400. And I suggest to use only energy weapons, so you will only need one perk card to reduce ammo weight, instead of two different cards.

I like a nobody talks about "stabilized" ads 45% armor piercing to heavy weapons (doesn't feel like 45) increases accuracy ( less spread) if you run that with a shotgun build and pepper shaker you can hip fire and snipe at the same time Edit: I had it miss written that 45% doesn't help,... it feels like double damage

Great video as always, AT. :) One thing I would add about the build is that is it a build that requires good management of Fusion Cores, as being in PA will use them up constantly. So knowing how to get a steady supply of Fusion Cores to power your PA is crucial.

This build is amazing I love it so much I decided to put on Bear Arms and I carry around multiple holy fires so I have to repair less often :D I have a feeling the chainsaw will be better for bosses and not sure if it's possible to combine it with this build, but I haven't rolled a vampire chainsaw yet anyways.

@@cqbx I've never had a problem with fuel on holy fire. It uses WAY less ammo on average than drops on each enemy. Just make sure you aren't holding down the trigger when stuff is already dead or spraying and praying. I'm firing in short bursts most of the time. Also make sure you are area looting to get all the fuel off everything.

Great vid as always, Turtle. I figured this out on my own when I first started, using a V FFR flamer and the FW. I ran this way well into the hundreds before really getting into XP buffs thanks to your channel, and then finally trying bloodied around level 400. I still like to play full health unless I'm grinding the scoreboard. And my main power armor is still Excavaytchor!

Edited: I soloed Encryptid today at level 133. This build is freaking AMAZING. My PA has two OE pieces, two Regen pieces, and 1 Auto-stim.

I've been playing for a while, but never really gotten into a proper build for this - I defaulted to the Fixer and a sneak commando, but even that isn't really to my liking. I've tried some (random) heavy weapons before and never could find something that 'clicked' - I'm interested in seeing how this would go - Just gotta farm up that weapon now :D (And my Legendary perks are awful, so this'll help - Kinda going back to the drawing-board on this)

You need one guy army maxed out under luck as well. With the holy fire gun it will make the enemy appear frozen, not able to fire back! With this a PA is not necessary and you can have chest piece with the Pneumatic Torso Mod, then you will not be staggered that much, you can continue fireing away mostly at all times.

pa gives you huge radiation protection so even one star what rads is enough to heal rads, the only place where it's not enough are radiation rumble tunnels

I can’t remember the exact amount … but if you have like over 30 damage reduction on your armor … the berserker damage bonus starts to go down fast. So, being in excavator armor with a berserker gun is pointless because excavator is already giving you soooo much armor, too much armor.

But berserker is the best weapon to use as a challenge role play. Good challenge build because you basically can’t have any ballistic or energy resistance. You can still use legendary armor… the trick is to have them completely broken. Broken armor doesn’t give any damage reduction but allows you to keep the legendary buffs. … just don’t ever take off a broken piece because you can’t re-equipped a broken piece.

More damage often comes out as less damage to you because if things die fast enough they don’t do much damage and things that can live long enough like really strong enemies suppressor makes little difference

Still waiting for the "I just wanna play" build. I've took almost this exact build to Sunrise field to test on the Mirelurk queen. After over a minute I just walked away. To be fair I didn't try this on a lowbie. Maybe it's different at level 30-50 but at 700+ this isn't even usable damage. So what gives? If you're not using all sorts of temporary buffs.

@@AngryTurtle I think that every time. Every time I do between 1/4 and 1/2 the damage you do. Every weapon every video. Not just you. No one shows a build that's just raw. An always the same damage build. Always temporary buffs, always adrenaline. I wish someone would show a build that will deliver the same results in every scenario. Whether you shot 10 enemies first or not.
