"Valley of Screams" is yes , it is from bleach movie 1.So that means, if you remember the villain 'Ganryu' who was a noble and virtuous man who is from a clan which was banished from soul society 1000 years ago and punished to wander in the dangai but they survived because they found Vally of scream and used 'Blanks' as their energy source. They don't explain Nanao's line about Ukitake's Reiatsu here but they did in the manga. The reason he has so much more Reiatsu than other captains is because he would constantly be using his Reiatsu to support his failing organs which acted as a sort of training 24/7. Something that no one else would have.

yep valley of screams is from the first movie. Kubo answered on his fanpage that the movies are parallel stories so not canon but this kinda throws that into question. It was in the manga too not just an anime only thing. If you've watched every bleach filler arc then you're going to have another surprise coming up at some point. Always cool when they do that. It happened with the seven swordsman of the mist in naruto too. They were originally from a filler arc. Also there is no reason in the manga for renji to be getting the poem for next episode so manga readers are as in the dark as you on this one i wonder what hes going to be doing. The pacing this cour has been way better but i do hope they leave themselves enough episodes at the end to cover the action without rushing it. We're approaching the end of this cour.

Yeah, Kubo confirmed it was cannon. In the chapter extra for one of the chapters in this episode, he says, "If you want to know more about the Valley of Screams, please watch Memories of Nobody." Also, from what I understand from both the movie and this episode, the Valley of Screams is (normally, at least) a naturally occurring phenomena where souls lost in the cycle of rebirth form a pocket of space along the Dangai/Garganta. So it makes some sense (I think) that there could be multiple, although not as big/dangerous as the one from the movie, since that wasn't formed naturally 🤷🏾‍♂️

The Soul King created 3 worlds, so it's not surprising that Yhwach rebuilt one for himself given he now has that power lol. Anyway, in simple terms, think of Dangai between human world and SS like a whitehole/space tube between 2 worlds. And outer space is Garganta. Reishi from any soul/entity lost in Garganta forms it's own pocket of space due to how different reishi works in Garganta, time also flows differently as explained by Isshin. How it forms is unexplained. But you could think of dusts and material gathering in outerspace to form planets and galaxies. Having said that, Bleach filler movies are exactly what they are - they FILL. It may not be entirely canon, but they consist of things Kubo had in mine that he couldn't fit into the original timeline.
