Mid 2000's I spent countless hours grinding HRC, despite having no skill nor strategy. The "Ready?" and reset sounds are probably stuck in my memory for life.
@Zeekfox2 жыл бұрын
I used to do these a long time ago. Part of the precision is L-cancelling the landings. Normally, landing after an attack wouldn't let you jump again so quickly, but if you press L (the button for shielding) at the right time, you'll cancel the landing animation. I feel like that one's worth a mention. Non-glitch Ice Climbers is a fun one though. I don't remember if it's the WR strat, but I recall doing bat drops with Popo using down-air while Nana does a forward air, which has the meteor property. This is accomplished by holding down slightly when having Popo drop the bat as Nana actually catches it. Then she can do the rest of the bat drop with Popo already in d-air animation. I spent so many hours on that.

One thing to help explain why Roy’s down air is so inconsistent is how the game handles overlapping hit boxes. I know your visual was a simplified version of the hitboxes, but, for anybody who is curious, the real move has several hitboxes that all overlap to some degree. This creates situations where a character might be hit by multiple overlapping hitboxes. The way the game handles this interaction is that it chooses which hitbox’s data to apply based on a priority system. Roy’s sweet spot hitbox has a lower priority than any of the weak hitboxes which is why the move is so difficult to use effectively. Because of the priority system, you need to hit the sand bag with ONLY the strong hitbox. If even a pixel of the weaker hitbox touches even just a tiny pixel from the sandbag, you will get the weak hit that you don’t want.
