To have that in Australia... Meanwhile, myself in the U.S. "You can't import cars that are less than 25 years old, due to safety and emissions concerns." ...yeah, implying that a car like the S660 isn't already optimized for emissions and safety, given the demographic it targets. The import law only protects domestic manufacturers, not the consumer. :c

Yeah the import laws are ridiculous. On some cars, sure the safety is less than up to par for American roads- like older Honda actys. But on any new car especially sports cars, everything is fine. All it is is protecting Ford and GM from the better companies!

@@RossReviewsau well at least its not as bad as buying cars here in Singapore, a honda civic 1.5 turbo can cost you 116k SGD (132k AUD) and you can only own them for 10 years unless you decide to pay about 30k SGD. Just like japan our road tax is dependent on the engine size as well. I do still see S660s on our roads though, but its extremely rare due to the cost of owning a vehicle here.

I’m Japanese who dreaming of becoming a s660 owner. I'm glad to hear the evaluation of the car from foreigners. I had test drive of s660 on a mountain road in Japan four years ago. I still remember struggling to get out of the car because of trembling with the excitement and thrill of driving. CVT version has the fun of changing characteristics in sports mode, but MT makes driving more fun. I hope you meet opportunity to try MT version.

Brings back memories of the Honda S600 sports car I owned in Brisbane in the mid-1960s. A little 600cc engine - no turbo or anything - but it went like the clappers! I took it on three trips to Melbourne and two Sydney, and it performed faultlessly. I lost it when I got caught in a heavy storm, and it got filled with water, dented all over with hail, and was written off! Must admit though, this model is much nicer looking!

Our import laws are really just to protect our own manufacturers. Kei cars would do so well for teens/Highschool/college/elderly/densely populated people. I hate that we can’t have Kei cars. I think you captured the real essence of the car here, even in the title...it IS hilarious, it's fun, it makes people smile...it may not be fast, but it's not supposed to be. It's built for a specific duty and it definitely serves its niche well. Such an amazing little package. I bet a 125hp yamaha CP3 engine from an MT-09 would fit in there pretty easily, you could find one super cheap, and it would even sound similar (I-3, 900cc). I'm sure several larger bike engines would fit, but I would be concerned about overheating. This thing is mid engine, doesn't appear to have much in the way of cooling vents, and was designed for a lawnmower engine using approximately 3 teaspoons of fuel every thousand miles.

Super video. I've one in the UK and a Beat. Both I find really quite quick despite their tiny engines. Certainly not sprinters but cornering is where they leave tailgaters floundering. Some drivers like to drive really close to them. The Beat seems to become invisible at times. Most trips there's a vehicle (or person) that causes me to brake. Both have sharp brakes..... good!

Ross Reviews Just sucks that it’s expensive to EV swap a gas car. Hopefully the demand rises in the near future, especially for classic and early retro cars. Low key would do it if it becomes impossible to maintain my 84 Camaro’s engine and gas cars become illegal in the US. (Doubt they will, but the politicians here still sorta think cars are the blame for global warming)
