4:00 if you heated that oil to that high that oil turned black, that temperature is also at too high for the non stick

Agree. Learning curve! They have been the best pans we have used to date. Low to medium heat works very well like you stated. Cheers

By the way….. use Bar keeper friend soft cleaner to clean the mark on the top of your pot and if you pot get super dirty and discolored. It works like a charm. Thank me later.

Careful with heat that high, there's still teflon in it. Cooking sprays are also a no no with teflon. A quick google search should yield plenty of articles about the damage both will cause.

I am glad I avoided the hype on these pans. A friend of mine bought a huge set of these pans for almost 800$. He is now pissed because a year later and the coating is chipping off and food is sticking on his skillets. I have never had problems with foods sticking on my cast iron or stainless skillets, but I do use a small amount of oil to cook with. As far as sauce pans go, do people have problems with stainless steel sticking with sauces? I have never had that issue. Why would you ever need a non stick sauce pan?

I am 53 and have been the best pans we ever bought. Still look brand new and use couple times day. Never really worked with cast iron but heard amazing things.

I am getting the 14 inch wok. I know they say you can use metal utensils but I wont. Also for anything that's stuck after use will be scraped off with a plastic scraper tool. I treat my regular stainless and antique aluminum the same way so they dont get scratched up.

Keep us posted on how you like. I may get one too🤙 Thx

I'll pass and stick with my, some of it over 100 years old, cast iron and my properly seasoned nonstick stainless steel. Good review.

Thx. For sure have to learn how to cook with those. I know cast iron and steel last forever🤙

It will be interesting to see how they stand the test of time. For now I'll keep using the cast iron my mother used until she passed away.

We got sucked in. Let’s see how they hold up. Did see some tiny scratches after they dried.

@@cookingwithtgg7751 And you'll see a lot more if you use metal utensils. Doesn't matter what Hexclad claims, these scratch with metal anything. Use silicone and you're good to go.

These are pretty pricey but they say you get what you pay for so hope fully these will hold up and be the good investment you are looking for in cooking ware. Time will tell. Good luck guys !

did they ever call you back about that handle color voicemail? I didn't make the purchase on a deal when they included the 10" wok (and I wish i did!) for the same 400~ pricepoint for the set. Waiting for the same deal before I pull the trigger - It's been a few months, would you still recommend them?

We love our pans big time. Yes they did call back and left me a VM but we just left it alone. I am sure they would have sent me a new one. Would highly recommend. Favorite pans. Eggs are only tough one but keep heat lower and will be great. Even heat and clean up well

Hexclad is not great. Customer service is null. Mine arrived warped, they blamed me (after I publicly tweeted, only) they told me it was fine. So I cooked with it. Uneven heating, sticking (i seasoned it). Hexclad, after 3 weeks of back and forth, told me to send it, at my expense, and then they would look at it to determine if it was defective. So much for lifetime warranty.

That is a shame with how expensive this is and Chef Gordon putting his name behind them. We have had zero issues to date. Maybe luck of the draw with quality

Painful to watch… like I know you “can” use metal but why would you? There is still a non stick coating what will eventually rub off and get scratched 😂 nice pans though bro

I cringed watching you crank the heat up to 9.5. Those pans contain PTFE (aka Teflon), and heat that high will destroy it and release toxic fumes, above about 490F. And all PTFE cookware is PFOA free today, so this means nothing.
