Just to give some support to the editors, when I read books that seem so terribly wrong, I remind myself--if there was an editor--how bad it would have been without their input. As a writer, who has worked with editors and beta read, some stories need so much work, the editors probably held back a lot because it was overwhelming to fix--if at all possible. Also, some writers/authors may not agree with the feedback and stand by certain character/plot choices. But you all are so funny when y'all go in on a book.

It's funny that marines mentioned how you would fanfiction this book... because when I read the ARC I was convinced this _is_ fanfiction Halloweentown. The grandma/mother/MC relationship and how they accept/reject magic, the special magical town that's faraway, benny the cab driver... It all just screamed Halloweentown at me 😂😂😂
