Eine gute Idee. Ich schärfe die Haken meiner Kunstköder (Hecht) mit einer Handfeile. Das ist oft sehr mühselig. Das Tool ist cool. Werde ich mir auf der Messe ansehen.

Thing is Iv seen people sharpen them that much that a slight ping on the end that it literally flattens and it’s no longer sharp . I can understand if you have old hooks but modern hooks are more than sharp enough for soft mouths of carp. I personally think it’s a bit of a fad and no doubt many will pay their hard earned cash for stuff they don’t really need. My biggest concern is that the market for big brands and certain looks is from young anglers. At my local lake I had a young teen pretty much showing off his gear and then taking pictures before he even did any fishing. He was also very keen to try tell me what is the best etc. Funny enough he came over afterwards to see why I was catching my whole session and wanted to see what I was using. He mocked my rig and bait then I looked at his And it was the most un natural rig and super short with a massive hook and massive bait of which he won’t use anything other than Nash bait 🙄 he was pumping it at the bag load in there and he never hit a thing . Even asked could he cast close to the corner I was fishing 🤣 I let him and he still didn’t catch. Gave him one of my rigs and one of my baits and bang . I was sat there with cheap shimano rods and my rigs made as cheap as possible with nothing too fancy. Yet he had every gadget going and all that knowledge - he still said he’s still going to stick to what he knows - Moral of the story - use what works and change if needs be . Same guy was there again the next week and was watching me pull them out on a short depth stick float with banded bread . Apparently noddies do float fishing 🙄 There seems to be a massive arrogance in the carp community of late and it seems these young lads are the worst. I have to be honest most young lads who have all the Nash clobber seem to be this type . Not bashing Nash stuff as I am quite sure a lot of it is decent (expensive ) kit and it is nice to know that mostly dickheads are what are kitting themselves out with it spending their hard earned cash 🤣 Before any backlash not all of you are dickheads but if it upsets you it’s probably because your a dickhead . If you own all this kit and don’t catch like that dude - your a dickhead . 🤣

We pay good money for supposedly sharp hooks, be it from Nash or korda etc. every angler sponsored by the hook maker/seller takes one out of the packet and sharpens them! If you cant make a sharp hook sell them blunt and we will do it our self! New invention hooks now called BLUNTS as sharp as you can make them!
@dreamfly5553 жыл бұрын
A hand drill with a dremel cutting disc or sandpaper disc is better and cheaper. I made a 600 grit sandpaper disc and have been sharpening treble hooks for a few years using just that disc. With the help of a pair of locking forceps, the hooks can be rotated and sharpened close to 360 degrees, bring dull points to the original sharpness, if not better.

The hook is the crucial part of carp fishing no matter how expensive your gear a blunt hook will loose you fish nash pinpoint hooks are brilliant but any hook can be damaged by rocks, gravel, acidic water etc what price would you put on landing a fish of a lifetime over loosing it over a blunt hook imo it's a good edge.
@jamesmotivation39094 жыл бұрын
I completely agree mate but... Over the last year or so in particular I have become stupidly fussy about shook sharpening and purchased the same swiss file that jim Shelley uses and for just over 20 quid- my hooks are like a needle. I don't even bother with a vice anymore. Always got my old jag vice and file spare in motor just in case 🤷♂️

Just noticed you can get a battery powered knife sharpener from China for under £4. Failing that I will stay with a file. Sorry, but this is ridiculous money for that. A more realistic price is £20 not four times that amount. This is in the same league as the £60 Korda measuring sticks. I have lots of products from both companies but this won't be joining them anymore than those Korda sticks!

U can’t have perfect hooks out of a packet , hand sharpening is the only way and lads think of the fish u have potentially lost / bin done by ur hook even goes blunt depending on the ground conditions on the lake bed . Massive key part to angling massive
