A guide who actually guides. So refreshing to see someone teaching on the water. Almost every guide trip I’ve done I felt like I was paying for the guide to fish. A note to all guides out there. Well done sir!

I've been on many guide trips flyfishing for trout and my dude Brennan in Cherokee is an incredible teacher and even better fishermen. But teaching someone about fishing especially sight fishing is an art. What Tod is doing takes a special person to help someone understand what's going on. Especially teaching someone that knows how to fish bc they're gonna be stubborn and take what you say as criticism instead of help lol

I lost one that was probably in the 9lb range about a month ago on Toledo Bend and I did the exact same thing this guy did but youre 100% on point with this one. Ive caught big fish off beds and I knew when she slug my bait on the 1st jump I never got a good hook in her and why I didnt. Id say its harder to wait until you feel the fish and get into position before you set the hook on a bedded bass regardless of size then when a big fish blows up on a topwater bait because you can see everything thats happening with a bedded fish. Great video and info as always keep it coming brother!!!

GREAT VIDEO TODD! It’s Extremely difficult to coach or try to help someone who CONSTANTLY will Not let you finish your critique but insists; I know, I know, I know instead of LISTENING & then discussing the scenario! Challenging opportunities Requiring PATIENCE!!!! GOOD JOB TODD!!🎣🎣

I think your one of the best fisherman on the planet your multiple Toyota series AOY s and just tournament record says enough , but more than all that your a bait designer the popping perch is awesome BTW as well as the structure jig its only one i use it keeps em on .strike king is lucky to have you buddy keep up the great content there aren't many you tube fishing deals I put much stock in .

My grandpa and I were across the pocket from you towards the end of the video. Watched y’all catch those couple. I thought that one boat was gonna go between y’all and the bank but he turned into his dock at the last second. Thought we were gonna get a video on that. Haha. Wanted to say hi but y’all cut out right after those few. There was a couple 5-6lb’ers in the back of that small pocket. Finally ended up catching the one I was working for 10min.

Todd, I know you told nick get a heavier rod. Which I use heavy-mediumish rod not medium-heavy when I sight/bed fishing for bass. When I was younger I used to stang more sight fish than I should have. I didn't actually learn how to properly set a hook on sight fish, until I started sight flyfishing for reds. Lots of trail and error "broken flyrods" coming from a100% power fishing back ground growing up 😅. For better hook set technique, You think it would be better for someone go with heavier rod and better hooks or? Going with lighter gear and line forcing themselves to having more patience, having the right rod angle and position to set the hook?

Awesome Todd, I don’t miss a show young man, How do I get in the private show? You said the NW end of the lake is where the spawn is warmest and usually the best, but does it work on Pickwick, which is a total river system, up and down every day? Thanks buddy

Some people just don’t wanna accept any type of help if they didn’t think of it😮 so what I do is if it’s somebody I like and I know they’re doing something wrong I tried to incorporate them into the situation of figuring it out on their own even though I know they didn’t!!!!😢 but some people will always no matter how wrong they are, they are right!!!😂😂 so I let a lot of people and a lot of their technology on the boat. I let their money talk and then I show them with actual hands-on does and I just walk away and I can see here he’s just confrontational. He wants to make an excuse why he was doing something wrong and got called out for it.😮

It’s electric bass associations for Baltimore County, but I have to be on a boat with sonar and I’m like a kid in school learning I’ve never fished a tournament outside the state, I would love to do that, just was doing plumbing for myself kitchens and bathrooms takes up a lot of my time a lot more time as I’m older man

Should have a bait with a bent hook so he can see how long they’ll actually hold the bait. Best thing i ever did was start practicing without hooks after watching ur practice vids.
