Can I just say I just hate the fact that we are even arguing about who should be ECF MVP. This team has defied ANY EXPECTATIONS this season and the fact that they are even here is crazy. Both Jimmy and Caleb played insane. If Jimmy doesn’t play the way he does, they don’t win. If Caleb doesn’t play the way he did, they also don’t win. Both men deserve praise. End of story.

Is Tim MacMahon stupid? Jimmy Butler was 25ppg 7.6reb 6.1ast and 2.6stl on 42% shooting Caleb Martin was 19ppg 6.4reb 1.7ast 0.9stl on 60% shooting Caleb played way very well, but Jimmy was better than him in every cat except fg% and is also clearly the leader of the team, the culture setter, the main cog on offense and defense and made so many impactful plays throughout the series. It's unbelievable how people are still looking for ways to discredit Jimmy and the Heat and no one is going to pick them to win the finals. And even if they do, everyone will still be blaming the Nuggets instead of praising the Heat.

Caleb was amazing, but people forget that the reason he could get into the paint and get those shots was because all eyes were on Butler. Jimmy was the MVP and Caleb was incredible. We can celebrate both of them and look forward to the finals!

What do you mean jump shooting team? Warriors are an elite defensive group with the icing on the top being their motion offense, not the other way around - many get this fundamental aspect wrong. It’s virtually unheard of to be outside of top 10 defence and win the championship.

The Heat even made the typical amateur use of zone defense work in pro ball. The 3 pt shot makes players rely too much on shooting than playing fundamental, grind-it-out basketball.

Thank you for calling out Bontemps, he robbed Caleb Martin. Caleb never went cold, no matter how long he went without the ball because it was being forced to Jimmy. He stopped every Celtics attempt at a run when no one else could hit a shot. Jimmy is better than Caleb but in this series Caleb was the reason they won.

Caleb Martin was excellent but he wasn't the MVP. Caleb could perform like that because Jimmy was on the floor. Did you see the Caleb 3 at the top of the key when D. White switched on him? White was so concerned about Jimmy Butler that he gave Martin an open 3. Same story with Iguodala over Curry for Finals MVP. Don't overthink it. Iguodala had open shots because Curry existed. The Cavs even designed the defense to give Iguodala open shots. Jimmy was the engine. Caleb gets no buckets if the engine isn't turned on.

You have great insight, you generally know what you are talking about, you tend to often give credit to others around you, you bring some great guests from time to time. However, Tim MacMahon is killing your show. I very, very, very seldom make negative comments on shows like this -- most often I like to make positive comments. But.... today was my limit. MacMahon was over the top negative, particularly toward Tim Bontemps. Simple way to fix an award that was butchered from day 1. Conference finals MVP is dumb. Make it the conference playoffs MVP. You announce an MVP for a full regular season, not every month. The NBA finals MVP makes sense because it is it's own entity in a series being played between two champions. Butler did deserve an award because he is the reason the Heat got this far. So just change the description a little bit. It is only a controversy because the description of the award is awkward and dumb
