I grew up in Raleigh, NC during the 90's so I was not too far from Charlotte. Thos jackets were huge all over the state of NC at the time. I still remember asking my parents for one way back in '94 for Christmas and got it.

I have my whole teal jersey being from Charlotte and 10 years old when we got the Hornets. A teal Muggsy Bogues jersey teal shorts and classic hornets hat and warm ups for classic night at what we call the new hive or Spectrum Center. Go Hornets🐝🐝🐝

Great video until they gave George Shinn a complete bailout by inaccurately saying the team left because the attendance was dwindling when in reality, the attendance was still fine but the city wouldn't build Shinn a tax payer funded arena, so they took the team away. As a diehard Hornets fan, that piece of history has gotten so twisted it's infuriating.

Was born in Charlotte year of 87'. Going to hornets games was so wild and loud back then I don't think people really understand 100k people going crazy in one building on a weekly basis. I vividly remember going to games with my dad as and thinking mugsy and LJ were super heroes. Heard of MJ but they literally were rockstars and have brought so much notoriety to a once sleepy little city.

Whats sad is that the Charlotte Hornets that exists now is not the original team. The original team is in New Orleans. The original owner of BET channel brought his own NBA team and put it in Charlotte after the Hornets move to New Orleans. It was then call Bobcats. But after the New Orleans Hornets change their name to Pelicans, the Bobcats change their name to Hornets. It's like the Seattle Supersonics original team is the Oklahoma City Thunder.
