Sidney Cooke is a British convicted child rapist and suspected serial killer currently serving a life sentences for horrific crimes against children. He abused children between the 1960s and the 1980s and was the leader of a group of paedophiles called quote “the dirty dozen” who abducted, raped and killed male children. Cooke is one of the most remorseless, depraved and disgusting offenders in UK criminal history who, at the age of 95, is also one of the oldest serving prisoners in Britain.
Evil among us is a channel which focuses on horrific serious cases from the UK and abroad with a focus on lesser known cases and serial murderers from around the world.

I'm ashamed that the UK prison population has let him live to 95. Your videos are gritty and pull no punches. You don't shy away from using the r*** word, or any other terms that most KZbinrs do. Good work, these disgusting crimes need light shone on them so we can see these monsters for what they are.

It's unfortunately because they're highly protected and CO's aren't allowed to set up beatings on them - if they do, they'll be charged with some form of "corruption". Back in the day, from what I've heard, 'nonces' as they're called, would be pointed out by Prison Guards and they'd be dealt with immediately, nowadays they're separated to stop this happening. As Evil Among Us said, he's locked up in a prison that houses loads of sexual offenders, so the chances are that there aren't many people who would even *want* to kill/harm him, couple that with him being idolised by other pedos, it almost keeps him safe. You're right about this channel too, he doesn't hold back any punches, same goes for Shrouded Hand. I enjoy Disturban's and Lazy Masquerade too, and I'd recommend both if you haven't seen them, but they have to censor/leave details out to avoid being demonetized. This channel really doesn't hold back any punches.

Certainly when he first went into prison, there were numerous attacks on Sidney Cooke including someone breaking his jaw. I suspect after Leslie Bailey was murdered by other inmates, they probably tightened the security. Prisons have weird dynamics. Apparently when Harold Shipman was brought in, Sidney Cooke was furious, probably because it knocked him off the "number one evil person" spot. When Shipman committed suicide, Cooke was apparently ecstatic. Apparently Cooke is now very friendly with the Soham murderer, Ian Huntley. Harold Shipman was said to be friendly with the Welsh serial killer "The man in black" Peter Moore.

Thankyou for covering this. I'm a dude, 46 years old, As a child, between ages 7 - 10, I was repeadetly brutally raped by a monster like this, my primary school teacher. And it has absolutely destroyed me and my life, I think the only one of those issues displayed at the end of the video, that I don't suffer are the eating disorders. I'm heavilly medicated, have regular suicidal thoughts and have extensive mental health issues. Life goes between, bearable some days, to just barely able to hold on, on other days. Monsters like this subhuman filth absolutely deserve the death penalty.

There's absolutely no evidence whatsoever of that and never has been. It's simply hysterical people being histrionic to get attention. This is the problem with these types of crimes - everyone wants to link them to some kind of dark shadow figure who's pulling the strings. It completely gets wrong the scale of the problem, which is utterly massive. It's happening in every single town, usually by the most mundane people you could possibly imagine.
@zeddeka
@zeddeka 9 ай бұрын
That's utter nonsense. Nobody has ever made that allegation other than histrionic crack pots online, desperate to get attention by making up a conspiracy theory. There's also absolutely no evidence and never has been. The Sidney Cooke gang and Jimmy saville inhabited utterly different worlds. The Cooke gang lived at the absolute rock bottom of society and fed on vulnerable kids off the streets. Saville had absolutely no need for that - he had a ready stream of kids from his TV shows, his hospitals, his school visits and work in Broadmoor. He could get anyone he wanted by himself. His offending was also almost always committed alone. He wasn't stupid and didn't want anyone who could inform on him. This is the problem with these paedophile gangs. There are some people who are utterly desperate to turn it into a giant conspiracy theory with shady people at the top pulling all the strings. It completely misses the reality of child offending - that it's absolutely everywhere, at every level of society.

yeah, such perceptions are just absolutely wrong, the world is safer for everybody today, especially women and even moreso, children. there is more AWARENESS today of child abuse and such, which can lead people to believe that it happens more. but yeah, this is absolutely incorrect. it is known that child abuse scales with how socially conservative a society is, as with social conservatism increasing, the tolerance for people making allegations of, or even speaking about child abuse decreases. the more conservative a society, the less tolerance for THE IDEA OF child abuse. children are not believed when they make accusations, and predators get off without punishment. Predators know they can get away with it, so they commit more attacks, and all kinds of men who would not commit attacks in today's environment, do perpetrate attacks, because the threat of punishment is all that stops them. this is a FACT and it is seen today with how prolific abusers are allowed to flourish in places that are very socially conservative... like in Malaysia, where Richard Huckle was able to molest what, wasn't it hundreds of children? because nobody will entertain the notion that someone is doing such things my mother and her brother were orphaned and they grew up in the American foster care system, in the 60s and early 70s. they miraculously avoided being abused in this way, but they passed through several homes where they, and every other child, knew that this type of abuse was happening. they ONCE ran away as like, 5 and 6 year old children, after the first night of having to shower and then pose nude, grooming for what would have been to come. they told the cops that came for them (when they got picked up for shoplifting some olives, trying to get a meal) about the abuse happening in this home. the cops calmly listened, then packed them up, brought them back to the home, and warned the patriarch that the kids were telling some "crazy stories" about him kids were simply not believed back then, not by police, schools, anybody. and nobody was comfortable discussing these subjects, they were more comfortable just pretending that it wasnt happening of course, women during this era were at the complete mercy of their men as well, they just had to tolerate any and all abuse... it was a sick and sad time. those who yearn for some imaginary good old days, truly have no conception of just how dark and disgusting and dangerous these times were for absolutely everybody but adult white men with some money. they're the only full-vested humans under such power structures

I worked in the probation service in a Bristol bail hostel in the late 90s - we were lined up to take Sidney Cooke on his release into the hostel but there was such a public outcry about it that it was eventually called off. After that the room that he was lined up to have been housed in was cynically labelled “the Sidney Cooke suite” - all preparations had been made but ultimately public pressure took precedence. During my time working there several offenders of this type were housed in the hostel.

I grew up in Hackney back then. I remember these cases. I remember visiting my cousins on Kingsmead estate but we were told as kids, don't talk to strangers and there were whispers of a flat that saw young kids going in there. I truly believe we encountered cat weasel, he looked so freaking weird but he knew better than to talk to us, our parents were very vigil and aware. One day I remember coming home from school and a man stopped his car and asked me if I knew where a certain road was, I pointed and said down there. He asked if I could show him in his car, I said no and ran off. Just thinking about that now gives me the creeps. We were street smart back then and everybody knew everybody. You actually answered a question which I was asking myself watching this horrific (but well researched and produced, as always) piece ... under current laws, what do authorities do with people who are a lifelong danger to children? When I saw this monster got life with a minimum of 5 years, I almost put my fist through the screen. But I think I get it now - they can't just put him away forever, but they can make sure every single parole hearing fails, for his whole life. I do think though, that laws probably need to change ... if someone is a lifelong danger to children, surely the legal system shouldn't be constrained by the maximum term for each specific offence? Anyway, I need to go and lie in a dark room after that, but thank you for your compassionate and fearless videos.

We didn’t know about this horrible case here in the states - or at least I never knew about it. This was one of the worst things I’ve ever heard of in my actual life. I can’t fathom how people can hurt children. I just can’t imagine how it ruined the cops, investigators, juries, journalists lives, and now what you must have gone through to document this horrific and truly unimaginable injustice. Pedos can’t be rehabbed. They should be castrated and have their hands and feet cut off so the can never do anything sexual ever again. (How does a mother allow her *seven year old child* go to the fair alone?!!Omg that infuriates me! In my opinion if you harm a child or an animal you should no longer have any rights. Are we serious still so naive and stupid as to think these wastes of skin can be rehabilitated. Get real! I'm tired of hearing about these Poedophiles getting this short terms only to be out and reoffend. Also these judges need to start being accountable and liable for there mistakes. Somebody needs to be accountable when one of these is let out and offends again. It's just insanity that we dont take care of these people as we should. Put in a cell with Big Bubba and a blow torch. Either that or into society with location where they reside announced for all to know. Only then maybe some justice could be done

Years ago i was going to work on the train, im from east London but worked in south London at the time 18 years old, i was reading the paper the sun as i recall, there was a article about robert oliver, it might have been about him being released or breaking his bail conditions something like that, i read the article, being from east london we all knew who these men were amd what they did, they were like the local bogeymen, i looked up and to my amazement oliver was standing by the doors with a suitcase, i just couldn't believe it, he noticed i was staring at him, saw me reading the paper and gave me the most evil look ive seen, i must admit as a skinny 18 year old, he sent shivers down my spine, and i was shit scared, he was pure evil, you could tell and a very large imposing figure. I looked round the carriage to see if anyone else could see what was going on but everyone was looking at their papers or talking to each other, he got off a few stops after quite sharpish aswell i must add, ive often looked back at it and wished i was the person i am nowadays, the piece of shit wouldn't have got off that train in one piece lets just say that

So, I don’t usually tell this, but .. My step-grandpa got put into a mental institution 1950’s. It was a plea deal instead of prison. The deal was that they got to test massive quantities of LSD on him for government and military stuff cuz he worked for Boeing aircraft in a high position and was also a pilot. He only served 6 months of a 12 year sentence for letting them test. He was really weird when he came out. These creeps get away with it over and over because the sentences are so short, and they get out in less than a quarter of the time.

This is the reason why the death penalty should never have been abolished - you get all the liberals fighting against it, but I don’t think even they could argue this monster belonged at the end of Pierrepoint’s noose. The one consolation is that was too good for him, maybe it is better to let him rot in prison to extreme old age, knowing any day could be his last and living with the fear of what happens if there is something else after this.

A number of the wider gang had known each other from prison 20 years earlier. That's the major consideration in the justice system when they consider jailing paedophiles. Once in jail, they tend to form long term networks and come out 20 times worse. Sadly, child welfare was not a huge priority in the 20th century. Places like Piccadilly Circus in London, and the major train stations, had been absolutely notorious since at least the 1800s for child 'prostitution'. It attracted a lot of destitute runaways, who'd often been abused at home. They would turn to selling themselves just to get by. The hugely controversial 1975 documentary about it 'Johnny Come Home' is now on youtube.
